      @MiriShuli exactly, it is entirely in our own interests to be generous here...

      @glynmoody Thank you for that kind response. And like always in mass migrations, you will be getting our “best and brightest” because they are the ones at most risk now.

      @glynmoody @MiriShuli

      Know euro institutions that want a research aerospace engineer?

      @glynmoody @MiriShuli

      I'm not desperate to leave at this point, but I'm making preparations and learning about the pros and cons.

      I'm having highs and lows of confidence that Europeans want Yankees like me at all.

      I have a PhD in mechanical engineering and 12 years experience writing vehicle fuel economy and/or energy consumption simulations in 4 different programming languages. I know maybe 1,000 words in German. Is there room for me in Europe? Where should I look? I want to apply my skills solving climate change rather than fighting to convince sociopathic Americans that my skills matter.

      @calbaker I've reposted; 1000 words is a good start, and many people speak English in Germany. Even more speak it well in the Netherlands. Or even in the UK. But I'm not sure how you'd go about finding a job, which is what you'd need to get a visa in most places... sorry not to be more help
