    I'm thinking of setting up a server to host my own emails and also provide a place where I can do rsync backups via ssh.

    Can anyone recommend a good clound service and/or steps for setting up a self-hosted email server with open-source software?

    I have a PhD in mechanical engineering and 12 years experience writing vehicle fuel economy and/or energy consumption simulations in 4 different programming languages. I know maybe 1,000 words in German. Is there room for me in Europe? Where should I look? I want to apply my skills solving climate change rather than fighting to convince sociopathic Americans that my skills matter.

    Mechanical engineer pretending to be a computer scientist. At work, I develop and deploy open source software (in #python and #rust) for simulating and optimizing the deployment of electrified vehicle powertrains. While not working, I play #guitar and #mandolin, ride bikes, and spend a whole ton of time outside doing outside things in the great state of #Colorado with my wife, galgo Espanol, and heeler mix.
