@bogmaxx@sickburnbro@doctorsex@DEERBLOOD@shedinja no, they hand it to the engineers and say: go engineer. my whole job is being told 'we sold these guys a machine that is supposed to do this' and then figuring out how to make it happen. I get paid lots of money because I'm good at figuring the shit out.
@BowsacNoodle@thatguyoverthere we had a fantastic nurse after our first kid was born. there was a minor problem that had a chance of being more serious, which of course is fun when you're a new parent, but she made sure we stayed informed of everything, and she pulled some strings so we could stay in our room after my wife was discharged so the kid didn't get moved to the nursery.
but she became a midwife right after that so I assume the system tends to push out a lot of the good ones.
@sickburnbro tv in general, i throw up a little every time my pastor starts out his weekly sermon with a sports analogy or tv show reference, which happens frequently.
@Terry@lethn@Marshall1Banana remember FEMA's stated 'top priority' is 'equitable disaster relief', which means they're jumping for joy right now at the thought of another major hurricane hitting a swing state where they can selectively help some (blue voters) and tell the rest (red voters) to fuck off and leave, or die.
@sickburnbro@LatigoMorgan@KarlDahl it's a problem when I'm out working on something in the garage after the kids are asleep and the dogs are upstairs and then they hear me come back in and end up waking everybody up.
@Shadowbroker2135@5arrows@sickburnbro strawberries are one of the most labor intensive crops to produce, they are not easy to transport because they damage easily, and have a very short shelf life. they are usually planted by hand, they require mulching either with plastic sheets or straw because they have shallow root systems and don't play well with weeds, and they need to be harvested by hand daily or at least a few times a week in season because they don't all ripen at once.
@Shadowbroker2135@5arrows@sickburnbro they're perennial. commercially, depending on the type they're either planted new every year or every couple years because you want the best production. i have a raised bed full of them, they're a great 'fire and forget' plant if you're just looking to have some fresh berries.
@Shadowbroker2135@5arrows@sickburnbro if they get too dense or get too many weeds, you loose airflow on the berries and you can get a lot of moldy berries. we had so much rain this year that I ended up have a lot of mold problems with mine because it was just constantly wet during their whole fruiting season.
