@sun In A Violent Nature is a good take on classic slasher films. It's often very atmospheric, I believe all of the music is diagetic.
If you want something sillier, The Monkey directed by Osgood Perkins is pretty funny. I went in expecting it to be a gross gorefest based on the trailers but the violence is over the top to the point of hilarity.

Thinking about the video I watched today where the cope was given that White people left the Congo and took their expertise with them and that's why all the roads were shit in Empire of Dust (60 years later).
I just have to wonder: what if collapse happens, none of the living White people were able to get higher education or trade apprenticeships, but we finally end up with our own countries. How long would it take us to reinvent these "lost" skills? Even if we had to start from scratch, I can't even imagine just living in the slowly decaying carcass of a better civilization, not even fixing the basic utilities we use every single day.
Stuff like this is why I have hope for space travel/colonization. They say the technology and techniques of the Apollo program are lost to us (thank you, Hidden Figures negresses, for your detailed record keeping). Even if we have to start again from nothing, we can still get so much further than any of the mutants who hate us.

@All_bonesJones @vic @deprecated_ii As someone who is pretty good at chess, I reject that being good at chess has anything to do with any applicable intelligence. You don't see top-rated chess players doing astrophysics or neurosurgery in their spare time, or vice versa. People get good at chess because they put a lot of their time and effort into it. Turd worlders probably view it as a way to rise out of their circumstances, the same as they would with athletics or art.
