    i've spent so long in my own head thinking about why i feel something and why other people feel something that i can't stop doing it even if i try, so i tend to be pretty sharp at mapping people out psychologically

    i've started thinking about why i think about thoughts in the hopes it loops back around and i can start experiencing things normally again

    @sun iirc this is actually more commonly a result of narcissism and the most effective way to deal with those people is to calmly remind them how worthless they are and how they'll never accomplish anything without relying on everyone else

    their wildly underdeveloped amygdala prevents accurate risk/threat assessment, the brain gets forced into treating slight disagreement as equal to literally life-threatening. disagreement justifies murder because their broken brains run through the exact same processes and internal states as someone literally trying to murder them.

    hilariously and also sadly, the solution to this is incredibly straightforward: if their neuroplasticity isn't shot putting them into situations of uncompromising physical harm if they act stupid (construction work, trades, hunting, etc) forces it to develop and makes them worthwhile human beings again

    @SNEK that's the COMPLETE opposite of true. humans have been massively overhauled to be much more viable as pals to the point enslaving a team rocket member early on before is the meta because they're versatile low-tier workers

    similarly, they added a proper way to enslave zoe rayne (and seemingly plan to do that for the rest of the gym leaders) and zoe is legitimately one of the highest DPS pals if you build her right. when all her moves are on cooldown she switches to her gun which has solid DPS, and due to her small hitbox and attempts to dodgeroll out of oncoming attacks, she's got incredible sustain despite her dogshit defensive stats

    also when zoe's on base as a base pal you can like talk to her and stuff and get her addicted to heroin. they put in a ton of effort to do the opposite of what you're suggesting, they turned it into a core gameplay mechanic

    you can manufacture mind control meds (a drug syringe) from beautiful flowers (opium poppies) to control her behavior

    that just in the game, heroin addiction is literally a way to make sure she'll never disobey you, that's just part of the game. you can keep disobedience low by running a drug farm
