In America, a font cannot be copyright. The only part of it that can be is the software, but not the shape or the styling. Technically, there would have to be an inspection into if they used the original font file AND it had copyrighted software within it. If not, there's no way it would ever be enforceable.
Doesn't excuse shitty people doing shitty things.
Side note, Best Western's logo can't be copyright, just trademarked. Many others, too.
