In case anyone uses an airline booking service (like Kayak) and gets tempted by the Frontier ticket that's priced so low . . . .don't do it. It's a trap!!
When the lady is sitting next to the guy at the end of 12 Monkeys, I always assumed it was a coincidence and that one of the members of the board of scientists happened to be sitting next to the actual origin of the whole thing and never realized it. It seems like Gilliam's flavor of irony.
Someone else suggested it was actually future lady time traveled back to get the virus because Cole failed. I never considered that.
So some of my kids decide to go to a dance put on by a local, Christian homeschool co-op. It's themed as a 1920s/30s dance, with folks asked to dress in the style from that time. They decorate the place nicely, and even post this picture of Fred & Ginger in an advert.
My kids know some basic swing dancing and some ballroom stuff. They're looking forward to.
They go. What music do they play?
#%@#ing rap music. My kids were pretty irritated. This is why we can't have nice things.
Is Riley Gaines is like the David Hogg of the right? After she got name recognition, she's done everything possible to stay in the public light including putting out bathing suit calendars and such. She seems like the same kind of character, only conservative.
I haven't actually listened or read anything from either of them, so I can't tell for sure. But that's what my instinct tells me.
@RichardJohnson I'm not pro or con. You do what you like. But I think all the "it's the same as Muslims cutting off a girl's clitoris" talk or the "oh it leaves life long emotional scars and your son will be mentally ill" talk is a whole bunch of idiotic bullshit.
It's not a big deal, either way. Literally billions of guys were circumcised throughout the years and didn't have to play the victim card. Billions of guys have not been circumcised and I'm sure they found love.
@Furgar Yeah - Spencer's Gifts, back before it became whatever it is today, was always good for a laugh. And also Babbages! And Waldenbooks! And the arcade!
Often, when left alone, folks figure out a way to forge a path ahead. That's what happened to the antebellum South. It wasn't a theoretical debate so much as a practical experience, and the result was a legitimate influence of both cultures (black and white) to create something that was both distinct and unifying.
And this is something that happens all throughout history.
But when external forces try to "shape" or "dictate" cultural changes - then things usually turn out 💩
Consider - we live in an age where the historical information about Lincoln is easily accessible. There's no reason anyone should still cling to the "Honest Abe" myth. And conservatives, of all people, should despise him for being the one who birthed the centralized Federal monstrosity they claim to oppose.
Yet they still idolize him and put his picture on everything and pretend like he was the "Great Emancipator."
So, no, I doubt the Epstein list or JFK files will change anything.
Would I like for Epstein's list and JFK's files and MLK's files and such to be fully declassified? Sure. But I don't think that's as big a deal as some others.
I doubt anyone would be prosecuted for info in those files, nor would it sway public opinion on those topics. Folks would either ignore it, say it was doctored, or any other excuse they have if it didn't fit their preconceived notions (and this is true for both ends of the spectrum).
The Democrats are proposing a Senate Bill to start their war against homeschooling. (SB1031). Please call or email senators on the education committee to voice your opposition. This is the return of "You don't have any right to determine what we teach your child."
