@eriner It's not SMR. It's supposed to be CMR based on the Red Pro and 14 TB capacity. But they can't be more than 2 years in operation, fairly light use, and 3 have failed within 12 months.

Class action lawsuits are such a joke. Lawyers file huge suits against companies, make a ton of money, and then I, who didn't even know anything was going on, get a check for $7.42.

Not even. I think it was one of the Credit Bureaus who lost a lot of people's personal data (I certainly never did any business with them voluntarily).

On the one hand, I'm always happy to see a credit bureau take it on the chin, because I think they're of the devil. But the whole "class action lawsuit" construct still seems absurd.

"They made you a risk for identity theft because they were careless with the data you never wanted them to collect in the first place. Here's $7."

I actually don't care about the Epstein List.

If it ever is released, we will have no way of knowing if it is authentic, fake, doctored, or the like.

Even if it is authentic, the likelihood of anyone important on the list getting arrested or in any kind of serious trouble is less than a million to one.

All that will happen is Talking Heads will get more things to talk about. It won't help deport illegals. It won't reduce gov't waste. It won't fix the justice system.

Probably. I figure it's an Israeli gov't operation. But it still doesn't matter. Absolutely nothing will happen regarding the Epstein Files, and at this point I think it's the distraction d'jour.

Closing down gov't agencies like the Dept of Education, deporting illegals - stuff like this matters a lot more than what some talking heads get to snark on about with regards to the Epstein List, including Tucker Carlson.

When the lady is sitting next to the guy at the end of 12 Monkeys, I always assumed it was a coincidence and that one of the members of the board of scientists happened to be sitting next to the actual origin of the whole thing and never realized it. It seems like Gilliam's flavor of irony.
