Well, maybe they should.

Of course, on the artist's Facebook post for this comic, there is a reply guy saying "Well actually, the term gaslighting wasn't about gas lighters..."
@inthehands "- But under normal conditions, you lose money on them."
This part's very important. Most docs I have seen on inverse ETP/ETF/ETN say that this is something that you buy *for a day* as a short term bet, otherwise you get into something about "compounding risk"
So, holding long term might work to push the stock down, but you will tend to lose money if you're not in and out relatively quick.
Definitely something to buy the morning TSLA announces earnings, I think.
@petergleick Like a convicted felon who's not held to account for any of his actions as he's now exempt from all laws in his position at the head of your country.
@inthehands Fair enough. My money's still on Trump blaming Ukraine for the failure when Russia refuses to leave.
I might just be a cynic, though.
@inthehands "mulls" and "weighs" doing an awful lot of work there. Does anyone really think Russia will agree to just leave? Let alone stop shooting for 30 days?
@kaia your manager have a problem with mirrors too?
"comparing the total units sold so far — 34,438 for the Cybertruck, compared to 3,173,491 for the ill-fated Pinto, discontinued in 1980 — and comparing reported fire fatalities for both.
At the current rate of horrible fiery deaths, FuelArc projects the Cybertruck will have 14.52 fatalities per 100,000 units — far eclipsing the Pinto's 0.85. (In absolute terms, FuelArc found, 27 Pinto drivers died in fires, while 5 Cybertruck drivers have suffered the same fate"

@ben for what it's worth, nearly every Dutch IT posting will sponsor. Other technical roles are quite likely as well under the kennismigrant (knowledge migrants) visa. Ind.nl has help in English on what qualifies.
While the Netherlands has its own problems and plenty of RW jerks like everywhere, the laws have been progressive around sex and gender since about 1811, give or take.

@jwz So my tiny DNA Lounge is in violation of the rules in the Compliance Handbook?
@WhistlerInTheDarkAges @aaron.rupar well, if not eggs, it definitely affects the availability of bread and circuses.
@arclight As someone who's moved across geo-fenced borders, the last thing I need is to be unable to use some little device because it woke up in another country and now I can't download the app on my new phone.
@ariadne that's one of the things I liked about fedi when I first checked out this mastodon corner of things. It really reminded me of irc. Something about it being more raw and direct than any of the centralized algorithmy social media attempts. The feeling of "this shit can't possibly function" that I got while it just continued to function in its slightly anarchic fashion.
Magic.
@skinnylatte "Tastes better than Heineken" is a pretty low bar, though.
@SallyStrange I bought the US Congress on Temu for like €13,99 with a coupon.
@gminks IBM doesn't have documents from the war because "most documents were destroyed or lost during the war."
Like when the Nazis started burning documents to destroy evidence, IBM's documents were also somehow lost. Could be a coincidence, but....
Added that book to my list.
@ryanc no option for black hoodies with logos from various severe Klingon and Romulon death metal bands?
@hacks4pancakes maybe just being on X will be enough to discredit infosec people in the future?
Google decided to let me know today that I don't want to pay for YouTube Premium anymore. €25.99 per month?
Honestly, I'm surprised I didn't kill it after the last bump in price last year.
I've been moving most of my music back to my home Plex server anyhow, so I don't really even need YouTube Music anymore.
@ryanc Ah, I thought maybe you were buying something specific. I see what you did now. :D
I grew up in #Canada, but it just didn't work out. I've been in the #Netherlands since 2018, and sometime in 2024, we plan to apply for citizenship. Maybe we know each other from #LiveJournal some #Vancouver or #Toronto events. I've done #Music #Journalism, #Photography and #FineArts and accidentally "fell into" #IT, and then further into Financial IT.#HorrorFilms #77Punk #LinuxGeneralist
