This is a wonderful quote of @Jeremiah that I will refer to more often. Do you have a pointer to the toot or article it came from?

#Grimoire bookmarking app.
The maintainer of Grimoire is aware of the fedi and sees merit in having an integration within the app.. https://github.com/goniszewski/grimoire/issues/4
Sustainable FOSS. What is that?
Not long ago I found an article by Gabriel Mays titled "Business questions worth asking". It listed about 55 questions that went a bit more light-hearted about considering various biz-related aspects than BizCrap usually found when searching for #LeanCanvas and similar buzzwords.
Yet it wasn't really applicable to #FOSS projects. So I gave all questions a pass and reformulated to be more appropriate. From here it can be further improved.

Yes, possibly. The AI trend wasn't that much progressed at the time of writing, I suppose. I invite you to add this to the topic if you wish. It'd be interesting to have some resources on workable solutions where people retain full control.
The knowledge system I'd need also does not yet exist. I created notes and some things an ideal system has. I need #Semmy Social knowledge fabrics..

Some nice reflections in there. Though individual social network platforms are probably the hardest to get off the ground. I haven't kept count, but encountered dozens over the years, and probaly countless other attempts. Success factors of Fediverse likely the open protocol, federation, and a handful of FOSS apps simultaneously iterating on them. A win for openness and free software (until now.. hope mainstreaming and corporate entries will not spoil it).
I think @helge is referring here to the technical concept of event driven architecture. Where every activity sent by a client represents an "event", i.e. something that already happened. And allows great flexibility, where different components and services 'choreograph' in relatively independent fashion into 'social experiences' based on event streams they receive.
There's a place where you can drop off these dreams so they may inspire others. It is part of #Fediverse repositories developer community where also the Fediverse Enhancement Proposals are kept. File a #FediverseIdea on the issue tracker of https://codeberg.org/fediverse/fediverse-ideas
#LinkedIn is this ghost town where the algorithms break a sweat to try to pump around the self-promotional platitudes so that those still active don't notice their chamber echoes because it is hollow.
I filed a #FediverseIdea named "Community has no Boundary".
The idea is to define a standardized #ActivityPub vocabulary extension for "Community", based on as:Group where the members (as:Actor) have a collection of as:Relationship to other actors.
https://codeberg.org/fediverse/fediverse-ideas/issues/47
Both custom + standard relationships supported e.g. http://purl.org/vocab/relationship
Native community support on the #Fediverse would allow us to move away from the technnical notion of "instances", talk about #community instead.
Wonderful. Thanks for creating that!
Just in case you weren't aware.. for some time I collected everything I could find re:discussions on #ActivityPub testing, and posted that to a wiki on #SocialHub that anyone can update (and I should add as things go with substrate formation, almost no one is doing, favoring fragmented fleety discussions ๐ )
@hrefna @KevinMarks @jenniferplusplus
I proposed on #SocialHub that going forward we (W3C #SocialCG) *might* consider #ActivityPub to be a JSON-first spec, instead of #LinkedData-first. It should be a change of 'stance' and need not break backwards-compat (it likely won't or be low-impact as there aren't many LD impls).
This different approach would entail that JSON-first devs get a sane extension mechanism, and that independent of that LD devs can go the extra mile.
#Amazon (the Corporation, not the rainforest) run by the cruel oligarch Jeff Bezos. Do you promote them by casually sharing links to their bookshops, buying crap at their e-commerce sites, or run your compute in their cloud?
Let it be noted that I hate all those websites that show me a popup dialog with "Hey, you might login with Google" ๐ก
First, I'm not interested to log in. And second I don't use #Google. Stop bugging me.
Those dialogs are a freaking #ad for a shady #adtech company. Take yourself seriously.
@kelvin0mql there's a #FediForum presentation by @pfefferle on the ins and outs of the #Wordpress #ActivityPub plugin. Dunno if it already happened, but then it is likely recorded.
@strypey honestly I'd reconsider that last sentence. It's a bit of the slap in the face to the millions of people suffering long covid or other conditions that are unable to participate normally in society to the present day. For anyone lucky enough to not be in that group there's still risk of contracting long covid with the milder strains that are going across the planet right now.
E.g. there's many FOSS folks that can't attend 'mass spreading' conferences that didn't take proper precautions.
This naming of the plugin is bound to lead to confusion, as it is the exact same name as #ActivityPub the protocol that is at version 1.0
I notified @pfefferle on the @fedidevs chatroom about this name clash.
While this is true, there's more history. At the time #ActivityPub became recommendation the people involved knew that important improvements were required in future iterations. This just never happened. Specs never evolved and projects created their own solutions.
For many years, what's now #Streams and #Nomad protocol, created by @mike has had nomadic identity. Why this hasn't picked up by other projects? Idk, getting such adoption is likely just as hard as evolving specs.
@activitypubtestsuite I collected all recent discussion around #ActivityPub testing I could find and collected it in a #SocialHub wiki..
