Telling Windows to just shut down without installing an update and it still tries to do so.
Why even give people an option at this point.

cursed browser extension idea: extension that you log in with your fedi account with and it applies your blocks/mutes on foreign instances so you don't get tempted on checking profiles.
@kaia also, while Bluesky is decentralized, it only having one large instance "in the simplest technical terms" right now is also a benefit
since the federation aspect is the thing that makes fedi hard(er) to use.
and the past has shown that people don't really care about federation, they probably can't even do something with that term.
@kaia also, I felt like explaining had exactly the opposite effect to people then wanting to try out fedi.
I think for the concept of a social media site, it was kinda averse to them that it even has to be explained in the first place (technically you wouldn't need to, but people often jump ahead and do so).
@kaia to be honest, having a network of around 10m people is still massive.
Bluesky has the benefit that it basically was made by ex-Twitter people, looking like Twitter, and of course that's then the easiest option to jump ship to.
And, the User Experience of fedi is not optimal sadly, and users aren't exactly the smartest/don't want to think too much nowadays.
@puniko auch arbyte, und gar nicht so müde eigentlich!
@puniko guten Morgen! wie geht's, wie steht's? :3
@puniko puuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuni! :neocat_floof:
good morning, fedi!
@rini @mattly as a note here, GitHub recommends the HTML way for this in their documentation as well:
@rini @mattly They previously even had support for something that's "nicer" in Markdown using #/targets in the URL but that way is deprecated and just using HTML is the preferred way.

writing a PHP project with PHP 8.2 is awesome.
People that keep hating on it are stuck in PHP 5 days.
Starting 2025 with installing a JetBrains IDE on my computer.
@puniko yes
HE IS STILL POSTING.
I might have never built a fedi platform, but I have a site with 200k users, so am I in the league to criticize you now?
(not like that take is stupid in general)
I hugely prefer John Mastodon to Zuck Pixelfed.
Anyway, goodbye "loops-api-v0" and hello "unloop".
Now sharing my APK archive as well as the disassemblies of the Loops client because they should be open-source by now anyway.
