Just finished an Endless Mode run in Haste (or rather, I died) after 88 fragments...that sure was long.

Software projects releasing on April Fools always confuse me on being legit or not and I tend to search for some disclaimer that tells me so :neocat_woozy:

@hj it's when you primarily code with AI without having much of an idea, just "vibing" so to say.

Incredibly stupid because the people that popularized that term do very well know how to code, that's just how they sell it to non-techies.

I've looked at Fragsturztaube since the shutdown and it's very obvious that people are kinda aggreviated when they get hit with "look at these normies" and other things.

@ricky @Erpel not moderating harassment is a genuinely bad take.

what you can skip out on moderating is opinions and stuff that isn't happening on your very own website.

you yourself egged on with the community quite early and immature as the others are they did that bad stuff, not to be excused. But people left because of the impression you made on them, some because of either things or because of said moderation ruling, they didn't go elsewhere and took their harassment with them.

@ricky You are getting off the wrong foot entirely in the first place. They never read the ToS, and you told them "I adjusted this and removed the paragraphs that forbid x and y" prompting their responses.

You could have just left it with "I adjusted the ToS to be more fitting to the community and moderation needs" and you wouldn't have gotten some people testing the waters.

@ricky regarding the ToS, they might have been indeed outdated, some stuff like the "noncompete" thing even being from a time where RS wasn't even open source.

However, leaving the terms as vague as this allows freedom in moderation.

You can be hyper-specific and still shoot yourself in the foot.

If someone can't take an opinion, you don't act on the report. And that's why you also don't make yourself known as staff, because then people can't complain to you and that anger will subdue quickly

@ricky absolute rules don't work in a social setting, that'll just lead to users leaving when the people that "play by the rules" take over.

I've seen enough instances of weird fedi/mature people elitism on Fragsturztaube and while I understand that it indeed is jarring when "weird" people start to inhibit your space after another service shuts down, they didn't deserve to get called "normies" etc. and considering those were minors I can of course see how that got them mostly aggrevated and respond...immaturely.

Not defending what they did, but I'm also not defending what the regulars did to them.

It's just sad because the recent ones have absolutely crazy production value. The hub world in ZZZ comes close to what you'd get in Persona games, for example. And the gameplay in itself is good too, I'd like to have it more depth if it was a fully-featured game.

But yeah, it turned me off as soon as it was about leveling agents with 3+ materials. Classic Gacha grind stuff.

I really want to get into some games that are Gacha games but it feels like my mind has set up a blocker for them and I just can't get to enjoy them.

Zenless Zone Zero is a nice game, the story, the design, entire vibe and the gameplay is fun. It's just dragged down by the fact that it of course has to be a Gacha game.

Every time I read "Vibe Coding" a part of me dies inside.
