@tchambers it's not at all clear to me who thinks who is "the supermajority", "the fringe minority" and "the vocal minority" there. Do you feel it was a problem to appoint that moderator, point out the problem, stand by the mod, or something else?

@TimWardCam @goatsarah GB Rail doesn't wait for stragglers if the two trains are run by different companies (previously, different sectors) but at least if you have to wait an hour for the next clockface-ish service, the company causing the delay repays some of the ticket price. If you can plan to arrive an hour earlier than needed, it usually works well. If less, then it can get stressful

@feditips @jonny this is a reason why people say mastodon is too complicated. If I wanted to log in to a website, I wouldn't have installed an app. Then add on servers not upgrading as an extra layer of awkward. 🙁
