@mekkaokereke I've voted for a grand total of 5 different things in my 26 years as a voter. City, county, national, European, and a referendum on the €. Anything more seems so weird and unhealthy as a system.
@GottaLaff sounds like there needs to be a great deal more active oversight and enforcement, and like corporations need to start being broken up as punishment for too high rates of failed inspections.
@GottaLaff Ah yes. The Supreme Court with at least one justice that was confirmed after intentional disinformation from the fbi at the orders of the White House? (The beer-lover snowflake, fbi didn't investigate tips even from senators, right?)
@futurebird The new USPS vans are designed to be practical for the drivers and safe for people outside the vans. Honestly IMO this is approaching what the pretty much all vans/trucks/buses etc should look like up front. Might hurt the feelings of some snowflake machistas, but their feelings aren't as important as not killing people.
Like many others have replied: never had much of an audience, maybe 3-4 times as many as over here now. And followed maybe twice as many as I do here now. I don't feel like those numbers are what matters for my experience, Mastodon is higher quality.
But I do miss more media & government entities having official accounts here.
@freemo@lovelylovely Sick days being something the company pays for makes very little sense. Especially beyond the first week or so. Obviously there needs to be infinite sick days since that's just how some illnesses work. And obviously it can't fall on the company budget, needs to come from a national insurance for everyone.
@augieray I'm pretty far from a covid-alarmist (or whatever they're calling you these days), but by the gods stay home til the symptoms are gone and tests are negative, and establised contagious period is over? That really ought to just be baseline advice for all contagious diseases ought it not? Does require paid sick leave and (near) free healthcare, of course. But that's a basic need anyway.
@futurebird I remember reading that there's an insect so small that their brain is fully mapped on the cell level. Barely into the dubble digit cell count? Could it be one of these?
7726 är nytt nummer att minnas: hit ska man vidarebefordra bluff-SMS. Detta så att teleoperatörerna får koll på dessa SMS och ökar deras möjlighet att agera mot dem.
Just searched for #WilliamsSyndrome Found only two old toots, that had to do with diagnostics.
I guess there's no Mastodon community for people with Williams, or their family members, yet. So, In the spirit of creating community:
Hi! I'm a dad of a girl with Williams Syndrome. Anyone with a family member who has it, of if you have it yourself, you are most welcome to toot at any time!
This is the main motorway from Gothenburg to Oslo. Happened overnight. EDIT: rescue services commander is saying 4 cars & a bus drove into it. And "half the Burger King" is part of the landslide. Rescue efforts underway. Those cars & bus have been searched. 3 ppl sent to hospital. Seemingly no deaths, thankfully.
First person to call 112 was standing in the way to stop ppl driving into it, says same commander.
@rasmusfleischer modellerna för hur många närboende och hur mycket kontorsyta osv som behövs inom gångavstånd från butiksytor för att hålla dem vid liv måste åter revideras uppåt, verkar det som. eller?
@futurebird I'm thinking it'll drag on for an extra 5-ish years beyond what it maybe should due to the EU regulations requiring its use. So I'm going with 2035 at least? Pure layperson guessing, that.
@futurebird And those extra 5 years are totally a price worth paying for USB-C becoming a de-facto global standard from now til then. Makes my life easier that most relevant devices we have at home & work are now on USB-C.
