   how do people in the Silo stay so ethnically distinct after 350 yrs? they’re obviously reproducing inter-racially. shouldn’t they look a little more ethnically ambiguous by now? is 350 yrs enough to suppress oral tradition? i have a lot of anthropological questions

     @Phil_Tanner i mean yes, who can repro is tightly controlled but it would be unlikely that the parent pairs selected would be consistently of the same race. people would notice for sure.

     @lzg I don't think I'm giving too much away by saying that the fertility/breeding is controlled and selected by "dark forces".

     And I don't think it would take much for those forces to subscribe to some weird arse version of racial purity...

     350 years is like 14 generations. Yeah, one would think most people are somewhere in an average range ethnic looks-wise by then.

     And a unified dialect everyone speaks. Tho with a written language all around it shouldn't divert too much from that?

     @Gurre 10k people, completely isolated. there’s tight repro control for capacity reasons, but no mention of racial hierarchy.
