i love reading because it never looks like you’re wasting your time, avoiding exercise or housework. you’re not mindlessly watching tv or doomscrolling. you’re *reading a book*, a morally superior activity that makes you better than other people.

sometimes it's the LLM/AI critics who give it powers and attributions that it doesn't have. the hype machine works in this direction too.

a lot of "AI deleted their prod data and backups" and not enough "they had their backups in the same volume as their prod data"

it's pretty convenient to blame AI for everything from deleted my wife's files to deleted the prod database to targeted a school full of children. I'm sorry but there's humans behind all of those things. HUMANS.

I completely understand the position of people who don't want to use LLMs or consume any content produced with LLMs. I do not understand the position of "NO ONE should use LLMs at all" because how are you planning to make that happen? no one should be *forced* to use them, but plenty of people are using them now. it's not something you can wish away or achieve via moral condemnation.
