god gives its toughest phone calls to its most autistic soldiers

I know this sounds terrible and I'm always ashamed to admit it, but I wish I had a system to help me maintain relationships with other people. A way to remind me to text them, their birthdays, the names of their loved ones, their postal addresses. my shame comes from people telling me "if you cared you would do this spontaneously" but that is simply not true. not how my brain works.

locals have managed to interview some of the deportees who were sent here on their way to Asia and other countries. they're bored, isolated, it's too damn hot, but they say "people are nicer and the food is much better" so that's something.
