yesterday i was listening to a reggaeton song that poses a problem: “baby, your ass doesn’t fit in the club. what do we do?” and i love the solution-oriented lyrics, lots of context, kinda great. what a fun problem to have.
happy pride weekend to all of us who don’t do sun exposure, loud environments, throbbing lights, crowds, and running into our exes in the streets. may we celebrate quietly in our hearts. 🏳️🌈
@inthehands no but last year there were 12 and half of 12 is 6 so if we continue at a similar rate we can expect approx the same number. i fear it might be higher, of course.
i’m now an inoffensive middle aged lady whose mere presence signals “this protest will be non-violent” but i am actually in favor of bricks going through windows so you never know
I feel like a lot of the protest advice I see is very good but it assumes you will get gassed, kettled, arrested or targeted for arrest later. the vast majority of people will hopefully go, wave a sign around, see their neighbors for a while, and then go home early. THE VAST MAJORITY. don't be scared.
a friend tells me: I went to talk to the school director but he was a normal dude our age, not a weird old guy. i hated to break it to him, but now we're the weird old guys you have to talk to.
idk to me this government is looking sweaty, desperate and out of control. overwhelmed by the tiniest amount of pushback. i don’t think they’re behaving as if they were winning anything.
