At some point in the future, if/when you're a mother and your little cherub totters into your bedroom with a breakfast-in-bed they've made themselves, it will make all the sense in the world. It won't be gourmet, but you won't care 😉
This isn't for the mentally ill. It's specifically limited to the terminally ill, people like my father. When cancer reached his stomach and eroded his ability to eat it slowly transformed him from a rock of a man to a shriveled husk akin to a WW2 concentration camp victim. His end of life was an agony that drugs and palliative care increasingly couldn't cope with.
So this bill is very important to me and my family. People deserve choices when facing that fate. I want that choice!
I'm of the opposite view, I'd like to see us be a positive influence on #Threads and an advert for the #Fediverse through engagement with the users there. I've started building a list of Threads accounts I want to follow—though most aren't visible on the Fediverse yet. When the list gets big enough (for me) I'll petition my admin to reconsider Federation and if that's not successful then I'll move to another instance that does.
I'd not really given much thought to the difference between Free Software and Open Source before today and just treated them as if they were synonymous. I'll pay more attention in future.
In addition, H2 is a lot less dense than methane. So to achieve a volumetric density that's similar at the point of use H2 has to be pumped at about 3 x the rate of natural gas. Our existing pumping stations can't do that so their pumps would have to be replaced and upgraded to cope.
How exactly? Federating with us won't give them access to your email address, real name or phone number. #Meta can't feed you adverts or force things into your timeline. If an account from there behaves in a way you don't like you can mute or block, just like here.
Did you know that #Threads are making #federation opt-in for their users, because some people are freaked about their posts escaping onto the #Fediverse.
Irrationality and panic is happening on both sides.
I saw a post from someone yesterday where she'd added a filter for the string "RT @" to remove any twitter auto-reposts from her timelines. Thought I'd mention it in case it's useful to you.
