When I was a kid, my dad used to say that for him, EVERY day was Father's Day. Single-digit me thought that was a silly thing to say because I was too young to recognize commercial marketing at work.

As a lucky dad to two amazing boys, I now understand what he meant. They are everything, and today - every day, really - is about them.

As it should be.

Miss you and your wisdom, Dad. You were the best.

@FlashMobOfOne I don't remember the reading room at Ellis Library. I do remember trying to get lost in the stacks. I'd seek out the most remote study carrel in the farthest, most quiet corner and forget time existed.

About half way through The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi by Shannon Chakraborty. It's a swashbuckling tale of a 13th Century Arabian pirate, complete with magic, sea monsters, demons, betrayal, etc. It works well in #audiobook format and I am enjoying it so far even though the transitions in the story are sometimes clunky. #FridayReads #Books #Bookstodon #Fiction #Adventure @bookstodon

@WarnerCrocker I was just debating with myself if false spring is a good thing or a bad thing. Sure, it's nice that we get to be comfortable outside for a few days at the end of February in #Chicago, but it's not normal and can't be good for the local flora and fauna. They're going to be in for a shock when the weather reverts back to normal.
