I'm of the opposite view, I'd like to see us be a positive influence on #Threads and an advert for the #Fediverse through engagement with the users there. I've started building a list of Threads accounts I want to follow—though most aren't visible on the Fediverse yet. When the list gets big enough (for me) I'll petition my admin to reconsider Federation and if that's not successful then I'll move to another instance that does.

By sharing, following, replying to posts/toots from #threads , we can be showing Threads users the broader #Fediverse and support #journalists, scientists, physicians etc who share their Threads content here.If Threads becomes toxic, we can defederate, unfollow, etc.
