    This is literally what got MS a legal threat in the 90s, they hired away engineers from a rival who took their corporate documents and all with them.

    Namely the UK had this thing called the Tavistock clinic and they were literally ignoring anyone's mental issues to fast track puberty blockers and hrt with taxpayer dollars funding it all. The end result has been a massive medical scandal involving lawsuits and soon to be a closure of it. A book was even written about it:

    And imo the problem goes far deeper than just trans science, the common theme is that science or junk science is a religion now and big pharma wants money.

    I think people are angry about blocking Meta for the wrong reasons. Everyone is concerned about datamining or FB EEEing the protocol, but nobody is concerned about FB just making it so you have to follow their rules to federate with them and having to fill out some form to get unblocked.

    Literally look at lithium mines. Look at the startups trying to get rich off making batteries or green dollars. Look at the greenwashing companies like Tesla do as they mine the fuck out of the world for lithium. Who is getting rich off EVs and investors? It's battery makers and the like.

    The only violent act I know Meta has "done" was when the NZ shooter and other terrorists used it. FB also said that nobody reported the livestream until at least 30 minutes after it had ended, and made a good faith effort to remove reuploads.

    Otherwise it's going into the shady zone of "words are violence".
