I believe these come from Brazil's PLC 53/2018, a data protection bill similar to GDPR, with a greater scope. The people in question can order a company not to collect their data. So these banks have told Mozilla not to touch them.
It's unfortunate some take that at face value. Considering it's a Hebrew idiom meaning "an eternity". ie. Longer than he thought he'd survive. But learning to read doesn't tend to go hand-in-hand with most believers in ancient texts.
I might recommend procaptcha. And they've got a bit of an estimator tool before you signup, so you can compare pricing. It's not exact, but not terrible.
A lot fewer clients tend to have to solve puzzles. It copes, unless DDoS starts heading your way, then it falls over.
You're maybe allowed to purge-on-restore, but that's annoying and frustrating, too. And could be challenged legally, because you might be holding identifiying data to notice what to purge.
GDPR also requires deletion from offline backups, and all logs, and getting someone to do that when no one actually gets given the time to field those requests, is where the difficulty comes from.
@darnell The US only designated Switzerland as the qualifying state in June. Laws take a while to take effect - the draft first went up five years ago.
The US *will* be enforcing the fines, unless the executive order is overturned, but only very, very, recently did the EO come into effect.
@Cycrev If they do, it's not a wise position. The GDPR applies to EU citizens, even when outside the EU.
And when it comes to enforcing judgements... The EU has agreements with most of the rest of the world, including the US. Because it's not a jail term, the US is actually likely to uphold it.
Had a seizure in the checkout. Someone, with all the kindest intentions in the world, called the police to do a Wellness Check.
Please... Please! Don't do this. It disappoints, but the cops are not your friends. A Wellness Check isn't to see if you need help or a carer. It isn't to give you anything. It is to take it away.
Fuuuck. Some of my books have been added to GitHub's AI system, because I backed up the code I used to generate them in the private repositories, whilst keeping my copyright and not using any open source license.
@rimu The dark/light mode links are good, but because the title element is on the span, and not the wrapping link, most voice software won't read it out. They're silent or "empty span".
