@olivia ...i have children that study at the university, how would you like to ban AI when most work is done at home? I fully understand/support banning AI for tests, exams, activities at the university. But AI is and will be used in a support role for most students i am afraid, whether we like it or not. Shouldn't we focus on how to use AI responsible and in a way that increases learning instead of all the "banning"?

@dalias @GossiTheDog sure, but opensource models are trained on those models trained with stolen data, you can not make them disappear, they are used in backends, for example powerful Chinese opensource models

@dalias @GossiTheDog ...true, but empirically we can establish that ship has sailed, looking at usage numbers. Then we would also have to stop using models trained on those models etcetera, impossible...
