@p@judgedread speaking of sex not guaranteeing children, I recall some talk about how lock downs would lead to a baby boom since people "have nothing else to do." Well no surprise, there was no baby boom, since this is not like the 50s where we have more married couples, no birth control, and less electronic entertainment. The people who unironically thought there would be a baby boom were fools.
@p@judgedread in an age with birth control and abortions, simply having sex is not a guarantee to have children. The problem is that less young people have long term relationships and marriages, which are necessary to have children (raised in a proper home and not with a horrible single mother).
Marriage is a bad deal for men these days. The deal needs to be better to solve the problem.
You know things are bad when state media is admitting that inflation is still bad rather than trying to continue the propaganda effort claiming that our government is beating inflation.
They even admit here that it the everyday expenses such as electricity, rent, and gas prices are higher up. Which is probably why they are in damage control mode rather than "everything is fine, quit believing your lying eyes"' mode.
@caekislove it is already a hard sell for many men to consider dating a single mom. No men prefer that, but some accept it if they have no better options. But her having a mixed race child makes it a far harder sell, as everyone in the world will know that the man is not the father of the child. No man wants to broadcast to the world that he is a cuck, so it is no shock that this becomes a deal breaker.
Though frankly, her being a single mom in general should be the dealbreaker.
I am glad I learned the important lesson of hiding my power level, as recently I was with extended family and the conversation of the rise in cancer in younger people came up. I was tempted to interject that those experimental "vaccines" might have had something to do with it.
But no, that would accomplish nothing. "Better detection methods of finding cancer" was the next part of that conversation, and I am fine leaving it at that. No use in convincing those who would not be receptive.
@Humpleupagus In all seriousness, the reason this would happen is how sensors would detect light differently from darker skin. Darker skin would more likely not reflect as much light as lighter skin. There is not a great way to work around this, as detecting light bouncing off of anything is limited. I had to do some work in something tangeantly similar, so I know full well that this is not something that can be programmatically solved either.
@sickburnbro I get a strong feeling the military industrial complex got far too complacent with all the years of the US being unchallenged by other countries militarily. The people in the military and the defense contractors must have been thinking that they could just coast on being number 1 and milk the government for more money while not caring about delivering results.
Not anymore. We have challengers now. If they do not fix things quick, then the US will not be a "superpower" anymore.
@sickburnbro But given the current trajectory, I don't expect the military to give up their DEI initiatives or the defense contractors to clean house and get serious. This sort of institutional rot cannot be easily reversed, as the rot has been going on for far too long.
Much of the world will heal, and much of Europe will suffer without having the US to be their military. A whole lot of countries might be able to have authentic elections once more.
@Insomnolant I always suspect that behind every DEI effort that companies claim to love is just the companies being held hostage by our government that will enact lawfare on any company that does not toe the line in favor of woke politics. In this case, it would be the difference of making less money or making no money due to being driven out of business.
We know the FBI was meddling with Twitter, so I would not put it past our government to do so with every other business.
@basedbagel I recall a shill on 4chan (pics related) going on about how men should be fighting for their families and country.
What families? Many young men are not able to get a willing and marriageable woman, so they have a lot less stake in society. And if you have no family to care for, you probably also will not have strong feelings for your country either. Especially not when the government of that country shows nothing but contempt for the young men.
Videos like this piss me off. Of course Dave Ramsey's advice is not going to "get you rich." The people he is working with are those who are so far in a financial hole that they need a simple, foolproof plan to get them out. Dave Ramsey has that plan.
You should not be worried about trying out for the Major Leagues in baseball when you cannot even hit the ball off a tee. So stop huffing about his advice not making you rich, it is not supposed to do that.
Another example of the same thing. "Not all debt is bad debt!" Yes, that is true. But the people that need Dave Ramsey are clearly incapable to dealing with ANY debt. You should not be trying to get into making money on rental properties if you cannot handle your credit card debt. Getting into rental properties comes with many risks, which the people who need Dave Ramsey cannot afford, as they already are in a hole.
And airline miles being a positive example for "credit card debt is not always bad" is retarded. Hey Joshua, if you are spending money with your credit card so that you can get "free airline miles," you are an idiot. Don't give me this "you are spending the money anyways." Usually, you are spending more than you normally would under the justification of getting something for "free." When you have a lot of debt, you need to cut spending. Which means credit card spending is going to be bad always.
Another analogy I can think of is complaining about someone who is giving general fitness and diet advice to fat people because "They will never become a professional athlete with that advice!"
If you are a fatass who just needs to learn how to eat less and exercise, the least of your worries is being one of the greatest athletes in the world.
"Look how much Michael Phelps eats in a day! Clearly eating a lot is not always bad!"
Again, you are talking to fatasses, not people on Phelp's level.
@shortstories@dictatordave@basedbagel Good point. Most weight loss is a matter of diet. Exercise can help accelerate weight loss, but not nearly as much a eating properly.
There is a saying I like in reference to this: You can't outrun your fork.
Just looking at the rough estimates when I run on a treadmill, 10 minutes of running is about 100 calories. It takes far less time to eat 100 calories.
This is a great point to bring up to anyone who claims to be Christian and is a Zionist at the same time. Why should we consider Jews to be "similar" or "the same" as Christian when they reject the most fundamental beliefs and teachings that Christians follow?
@Humpleupagus@PapaPole Being able to work for yourself is nice, though it of course comes with the burden all falling on you if you succeed or fail.
Another thing I would mention about the people complaining about modern work is that they want to do something that might technically be labor, but not something in that much demand (many "artists" for example).
Reality and market forces are not valid reasons for complaints.
@PapaPole@Humpleupagus The first question I would ask someone like this is what kind of life does he want to live. The second question would be what is preventing him from living that kind of life?
If the answer to the second question is government or others that would forcefully impede him (assuming he is keeping to himself), then I have sympathy. If it is reality because he just wants to be paid to do jack shit, then he is just a lazy faggot.
@Humpleupagus Crazy idea: what if putting on a whole lot of chemicals on your face on a regular basis is bad for your skin? Crazy, right? And so many women talk about having a "skin care routine" when they should just cake less makeup on.
That, and not eat greasy takeout food all the time.
Looks like this will be my new home. Warning: I (probably) have Asperger's, so my be prepared for my autism to show through.I don't think I am a right wing extremist, but I am sure anyone with low testosterone might think otherwise.
