"The United States was built on slavery" is a silly premise even if it was objectively true (it's not). It asserts the idea that the only way any accomplishments that were (allegedly) done by slavery would not have been possible without slavery. If a specific building was created with the use of slave labor, it is not as if it would be impossible to create that same building in the absence of slave labor.

The same thing happens with "black inventions" when a black person just so happens to be a part of a team that created an invention. I don't buy for a second that every member of a team trying to create something is always unique and irreplaceable. Especially not someone who is merely playing a support role in the process.

The person making the initial assertion will either need to know me very well to accurately assess how I should change my voting patterns to align with my interests or they should admit that they do not actually know my interests.

And if they admit this, then how can they state that I am voting against my interests when they do not have knowledge of them?

@Humpleupagus @Dudebro @Silverwolf ask these same people what they think the minimum wage should be, and ask them what they think the illegal aliens get paid for their work. Chances are that they are holding on to too many contradictory principles that cannot coexist.

And if she has a couple of brain cells to rub together, she will realize that having higher taxes on his earnings will mean less money available for her (assuming the least charitable outlook on a woman marrying such a man).

@p @judgedread speaking of sex not guaranteeing children, I recall some talk about how lock downs would lead to a baby boom since people "have nothing else to do." Well no surprise, there was no baby boom, since this is not like the 50s where we have more married couples, no birth control, and less electronic entertainment. The people who unironically thought there would be a baby boom were fools.

@p @judgedread in an age with birth control and abortions, simply having sex is not a guarantee to have children. The problem is that less young people have long term relationships and marriages, which are necessary to have children (raised in a proper home and not with a horrible single mother).

Marriage is a bad deal for men these days. The deal needs to be better to solve the problem.

You know things are bad when state media is admitting that inflation is still bad rather than trying to continue the propaganda effort claiming that our government is beating inflation.

They even admit here that it the everyday expenses such as electricity, rent, and gas prices are higher up. Which is probably why they are in damage control mode rather than "everything is fine, quit believing your lying eyes"' mode.

@caekislove it is already a hard sell for many men to consider dating a single mom. No men prefer that, but some accept it if they have no better options. But her having a mixed race child makes it a far harder sell, as everyone in the world will know that the man is not the father of the child. No man wants to broadcast to the world that he is a cuck, so it is no shock that this becomes a deal breaker.

Though frankly, her being a single mom in general should be the dealbreaker.
