@SIC_Guy @leespringfield1903 Every time audience likes the wrong thing, they do everything they can to shit on it. A guy and a girl read the bible? Well, the guy is secretly a traitor, and devil worshiper and homosexual and wifebeater. And she is with him because she was scared of him and she is a lesbian now, and she dates a black guy, and that black guy has all the powers of the White guy, but better. Its always the same fucking shit, bait and switch, or random good thing + author backlash to positive reactions.

@pyrate @cjd @BowsacNoodle @Jens_Rasmussen @Racist_Columbo From the moon, sure. You can do whatever, even catapult. Moon lander was basically a tin can powered by crew farts.

@cjd @pyrate @BowsacNoodle @Jens_Rasmussen @Racist_Columbo The faster you go, the more you get slowed down by air. All initial launch acceleration you get from any source would be negated by it. And it cant even be in the right direction, since rockets are not flying vertically up, they fly at an angle, and than all speed is applied in parallel to earth like this

It would help in theory, even if its not the correct direction, but its not great. But on the moon, sure, easy.

@Jens_Rasmussen @BowsacNoodle @Racist_Columbo Maintenance fees, unstable foundations, the size of the balloon required. Random wind can fuck it all up, and maintaining position would be really hard. Random nigger can fuck it all up. Its technically possible, but again, its worse than mountains and worse than Equator. Mass distribution would also be a problem, rockets are heavy and losing all that mass will fuck things up for the blimp of doom.

@BowsacNoodle @Jens_Rasmussen @Racist_Columbo Propellers aint free. And maintenance is even more expensive. As I said, even building in equatorial/mountain lands is not worth it. And you probably will lose Earth rotation boost with it anyway. But I dunno how it would even work in that case.

Yeah, we cant maintain regular rail system without everything fucking up, so anything more complex than the current system is pure theory.

It just burns the rocket at launch. Speed will rapidly drop, you cant replace rocket. Instead of burning fuel, you burning rocket. Its reentry speed, but within dense parts of the atmosphere.

@Jens_Rasmussen @Racist_Columbo Even with infinite energy catapult, it would not work. Air is just too hard.

@Jens_Rasmussen @Racist_Columbo Imagine ramming your cat with a train at 2k/h. Would it help you save fuel? And while higher elevation helps, its just not worth it in most cases. Same with launches closer to equatorial line, they are technically cheaper, but further away from all normal people countries, and as such not worth it. It utilizes Earth rotation (more than usual) to get a boost.
Air is too hard, you are not allowed to built a space catapult.

@Jens_Rasmussen @Racist_Columbo Catapult energy is released at launch, which maximizes air resistance, which minimizes the benefit. What part of "air is hard" you dont understand?

@Jens_Rasmussen @Racist_Columbo Not gonna work. Air resistance increases way faster than speed, its impossible to overcome.

@Jens_Rasmussen @Racist_Columbo The more fuel you have, the more you can accelerate, but the more fuel you have, the more you weight, the more expensive acceleration becomes. DeltaV is the amount of acceleration you have.
