indeed, they are attempting to remoralize themselves by saying "no! we aren't wrong! this isn't a mandate!"

@wired it still has yet to become a bad strategy - it's just not currently *obviously* the winning one. This alone puts a huge dent in it.

@sickburnbro being incapable of admitting fault was a great strategy... until it wasn't. :lainlaugh:

@Chzikken_1486 @sickburnbro Take away California's massive margin runup, and Trump beat Hilary by about the same % as he beat Harris.

The Democrats lost a margin the size of California in 8 years.

@PunishedD @Chzikken_1486 I think what probably happened in 2016 was they were cheating too, but the campaign was run in such a way that their machine couldn't beat him in the places he won, so they just had an excess of fake votes. 2020 was at this point obviously ridiculous.

@sickburnbro they really haven't adapted well to either demographic or technology change over the last decade yet.

@sickburnbro @PunishedD @Chzikken_1486 they never expected any states of their Blue Wall to be up for grabs, so they did not consider the need to "fortify" in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Which is why Trump was able to win in 2016.

@sickburnbro @Chzikken_1486 They cheat every year, it's just a matter of how much attention they get. Literally nobody was checking or stopping ballot box fraud in CA in 2016/2020. Nevada has a known 3-5% fraud operation out of Vegas. The Daley family in Chicago has kept dead people voting for decades. Detroit is so bad it's practically 3rd world.

Until Trump, all of those places were treated as a lost cause. No Republican bothered because the states were a write-off, they aimed to pick up electoral votes elsewhere. The Dems got panicky in 2020 and kicked their operations into overdrive, which made even normal people aware of the fraud.

It took a covert GOP program of 300,000 trained volunteers and 10,000 lawyers this year just to fight back the fraud in the important states. And they're STILL slow counting in PA, AZ, and CA, and ignoring court orders in PA.
