    What, did people hear it breaking the sound barrier more than once?
    It reminds me too of when someone in my former neighborhood discharged a firearm and just due to the way urban and semi-urban environments are laid out I found it impossible to triangulate the sound when it's just one round.

    @s2208 @sickburnbro Tagging onto your meta point, I've met some decent guys who have held higher offices but, to your point, they seem to 'lose interest' real quick. Like only doing a couple terms as a house rep and then, not running again, and for a district that they could have held until they were carried out horizontally.

    @sickburnbro It's a bit in the weeds, but given that the market sets the wages I like to press them on what should have been the alternate financial arrangement with the slaves. Always ignored is the fact that large plantations usually did good to break even (or as I also tend to say, if slavery is so advantageous to the South then why did they lose the war).

    TDLR: As freed slaves found out after the war, they'd have a hard time eeking out the same lifestyle that they were getting under slavery.
