    Not exactly amazing that a guy that pickled on steroids would have “anger issues” 🙄

    @Humpleupagus @s2208 I had that thought too, and that as inflation makes prices go up and wages stagnate that such a scheme will be picked up by every state. If I had to guess then this is probably a big issue in Florida and he's trying to get out in front of it before he's dragged there.

    It's very difficult to have a discussion on that subject without factoring in both the Cold War and the fact that the foreign policy establishment felt that they (them, personally) were dragged in to WW2 due to inaction from the peaceniks.

    @PopulistRight @White_Powerade @sickburnbro Karl Denninger makes a vaguely persuasive case of 12-18 months for a severe market dislocation based on a “parasite load” metric he has, though I know in the past he himself has expressed amazement at how many times they’ve managed to prevent a system collapse (most recently when Trumps tariff plan revealed that the financial markets are almost entirely fake money from infinite leverage, and yet were somehow able to get the toothpaste back in the tube).

    @sickburnbro @TeaTootler That was my thought: a 13% remittance tax essentially raises the "low labor" costs by 13% which defeats the purpose for the slave labor lobby. I'll frankly be amazed if any tax level gets set (which looks like it might).

    @sickburnbro That was always the devil's compromise: the U.S. would allow Mexico to ship their human debris in and then ship money back so that the Mexican narco state wouldn't collapse in chaos. Where Mexico really dropped the ball was letting other countries in on it's grift; they should have had an Israeli style lobbying arm that sought to keep all brown people who weren't Mexican from coming into the U.S.
