@scenesbycolleen @SK1ZM @Inginsub I will grant that it has one really good line in it (when the detectives go to "question" people at the bar). -

@SK1ZM @Inginsub >I didn't know they made a sequel
There’s a reason for that.
In particular a sequence late in the movie involving a dollhouse is one of the most painful things I’ve ever sat through. The filmmaker wanted to convey the mental anguish the characters were going through and succeeded a little too well. -

@BroDrillard @sickburnbro It’s like I keep noting that none of these systems at least appear to have “presence”. For instance the computer can hardly go on a quest of self improvement since it has no concept of ”self”. -

@sickburnbro There's been a lot of people saying that, that some sort of "neural net" (whatever that is) will be needed for true breakthroughs. Maybe they could give an LLM a quantum computer conscience or something -

@sickburnbro Just about everywhere in the Midwest there is more than enough housing if the regime would kick invaders out AND get niggers under control. I wonder if that builder wants either of those things to be done. -

I hope they keep trying that but while people are freezing to death, should end well for them -

@dictatordave @Bunsen @PamelaDrew What fascinated me was watching The French Connection recently and despite all the effort in the film to paint the New York of the day as an urban hellscape it still looked better than what is there today. -

@RustyCrab @charliebrownau @deprecated_ii @weaf The one time I was tasked with hiring someone, the people I wanted I couldn’t get (for a variety of reasons) while I’d rather have had to work twice as much than hire any of the people I could hire. -

@charliebrownau @weaf @deprecated_ii Back when Google wasn't quite so evil they set out to "standardize" the hiring process, to develop a set of practices which would almost always guarantee hiring a successful employee. After much trial and effort what they found was that no such process existed. As I recall, "interviews" specifically had zero bearing on whether or not someone would be a good hire. -

@egirlyuumimain @Escoffier @sickburnbro That was the initial take although it's clear now we've been bickering with kikes and their lackies, not ourselves. Even though they had nothing to do with Kirk's murder (winkwinknudgenudge) they took the moment of his demise to try and re-cement their total grip on the right (and have been failing). -

@Humpleupagus @Quentel @Twig @graf @ThatWouldBeTelling I was gonna do the math, but someone already did it for me.
Maybe if we all lived to be 250 years old we would blow off such timelines, but generally if I'm lending someone money I'd like there to be some expectation of being paid back before I die. -

@Quentel @Humpleupagus @Twig @graf @ThatWouldBeTelling Maybe of interest, from the Internets:
"Japan introduced long-term, multigenerational mortgage loans in the late 1980s and early 1990s, with some institutions offering terms of up to 100 years.
These loans were initially promoted as a way to make home ownership more affordable, particularly in high-cost areas like Tokyo, where housing shortages and high prices made traditional mortgages difficult.
The concept involved passing the mortgage debt from one generation to the next, allowing a second generation to move into a parent's home after their death while paying off the remaining loan.
However, research and analysis indicate that these long-term mortgages did not significantly increase housing affordability for the general population.
Instead, they were primarily used by affluent families as an estate-planning tool to reduce inheritance taxes, which can reach up to 70% of a family's assets, including real estate.
By structuring the home as a mortgaged asset passed down, heirs could pay inheritance taxes on only a fraction of the property's value."
