@yomiel @theorytoe @prettygood @mischievoustomato I like how when I was on KDE Neon for screen recording I could click a button on the login screen to switch to xorg when wayland was preventing me from recording anything other than a black screen

@lunarised @Suiseiseki @Witch_Hunter_Siegfired @hispanicweeb @kilostere I wouldn't say top-notch, that is jpegxl for which this is even more true.
but compared to jpg and gif, absolutely

@nyanide I set /bin/sh to be a symlink to Python, my computer runs faster now.

@SuperDicq @Suiseiseki @menherahair @phnt @mischievoustomato @yomiel @lxo from what I hear it was at least once, and that doesn't change that cutting support for a machine does not make it more free.
and no I don't think the FSF would try to reverse engineer drivers for machines they'd rather leave to the vendor BIOS.

@SuperDicq @Suiseiseki @menherahair @phnt @mischievoustomato @yomiel @lxo what's the other side that makes an entirely proprietary bios better than a partially proprietary one with potential for reverse engineering the rest?

@mischievoustomato @menherahair @phnt @Suiseiseki @SuperDicq @yomiel @lxo the libreboot/gnuboot thing especially, if I only knew of that one thing, would have indicated that this were a cult.

@SuperDicq @Suiseiseki @menherahair @phnt @yomiel @lxo the thing is, the hardware is compatible, unless you are such an ideologue you'd rather throw your computer in a bathtub than install a proprietary driver on the computer.

@amalthea I doubt it, @mint was also notorious for making private posts that federated visible

@nyanide I think there's another counterexample in dmenu, that program can be dangerous because if you try running a program that asks for standard input it freezes your xorg session from what I've found.

@Tony @NotoriousDOG @skylar cursive classes are good tho, at least for schools where you still will have writing exams done by pen.
outside of school yeah not so much, the only time I use a pen is for maths or diagramming, never to write an essay.

@yomiel @Tony @NotoriousDOG @skylar I like my Japanese erasable ink cartridge pens, I think those would have more advantages than a fountain pen since the only non-math writing I've done in the last year has been Latin/Russian noun conjugation tables

@yomiel @Tony @NotoriousDOG @skylar oh I thought you meant the pens
