@icedquinn Hardware companies making new hardware powerful enough to last longer and run faster than older hardware, and then software companies making new software powerful enough to run just as slowly and drain just as much battery power on new hardware as old software did on old hardware, will never not be funny to me.
@radix023 I did this for the #NBAFinals before realizing that that would actually be more expensive.
For example: I went and watched #TeamUSA lose in the #WorldCup at #BuffaloWildWings with my sister, and the cost of the wings I got alone was more expensive than the #FoxOne subscription that I have right now.
(I went more for the atmosphere than for access to the game, TBF, but still.)
That's what inspired me to re-evaluate my services for the fall.
High streaming costs suck, but we don't have very much leverage when it comes to live sports. Most of it doesn't air #OTA, and even if it did, most people probably can't get all 4 major networks at the same time.
At least with shows and movies, we can collect physical or digital media to avoid subscriptions.
I just subscribed to #DirecTV...well, #DirecTVStream. This is the first time I've subscribed to a multinetwork live streaming service since I was on #HuluWithLiveTV, which I think I had for a couple of years until they jacked the prices up by $25/mo over the course of my subscription.
The package I picked was affordable, and what (pleasantly) surprised me is how few channels it has. It almost literally only has what I want. I went through and favorited the channels I like, and it's most of them
I wish there was a way I could legally watch other nations' broadcasts of the #FIFAWorldCup, a bit how like in #MLBTV I can watch the home and away calls of every teams' game.
People will literally say that they oppose #fascism and then in the same breath demand that the government seize the private assets of their political enemies.
Remember, the #antifascist movement was never about anybody's #fascism except for their own.
When it comes to sexual assault claims, it's hard to tell who's telling the truth without evidence, so I look at how people respond.
#GrahamPlatner responded by, essentially, suspending his campaign.
This signals to me that he did it. You stick around if you think you can beat the claims, and you'll feel way more confident in fighting claims like these if you know for a fact that they are false, because if they are true, there technically could be evidence of it that you don't know about yet.
However, much of this was due more to cultural attitudes at the time, rather than the backbone or framework of the nation itself. The #USA has never been so #Christian that it would have been impossible for, say, an Atheist, to be #POTUS and do his job properly.
Sure, there is a lot of tolerance in #Christian nations that you just don't get with #Muslim nations that helped with this, but it's still true.
I like #McDonalds well enough, at least my regular order. But I really wish that there was an option to replace the fries in the meal with their nuggets. Not only do I love their nuggets, but that adds up to way fewer carbs.
