@Marshall1Banana if that happens it will be a rug pull of a life time. That said, I think there will still be enough elite pressure to avoid it, and to some degree the newspapers declining to endorse Kamala are an example of them voting "actual I'd rather not choose to burn it all down"

@sickburnbro Nothing happens until after the election, then after Trump's in- get ready for the greatest orchestrated crash you've ever seen or ever will see in your lifetime

@TeaTootler @Marshall1Banana something is going to happen one way or another. If the influx doesn't change rapidly, they are going to run out of 3,000 people towns in Ohio to stuff hatians in.

@TeaTootler @Marshall1Banana The interesting thing is that with how badly the economy has been fucked, I don't think we would even get a golden age.
In fact, because things are so dire that's actually the reason I think there is even a chance that it would happen to begin with.

@sickburnbro @Marshall1Banana i know they're not going to happen but mass deportations would really blast the economy into a golden age we haven't seen in forever

@TeaTootler @Marshall1Banana People love and hate Reagan, but the simple fact is that conservative people will be stupid with their money but nice when they feel rich.
Even after the disaster of the 70s, Americans still felt rich and didn't punish anyone for that amnesty.

@Marshall1Banana @sickburnbro They've faked all the data to an extreme and papered over the faults with schemes that give a short term boast to the headline number while dumping long term ills on society (gimmigration, endless wars, etc). Backing out the "bezzle" (short for embezzlement) is going to be...interesting. They really are dropping a giant turd-bomb right onto Trump's lap.

@EvilSandmich @Marshall1Banana what's weird about it is that it's not quite a drop. You'd think that if that what was happening they would make it clearer, if the musical chairs ends and they are in charge they're not going to have a fun time.

@s2208 @dictatordave @EvilSandmich @Marshall1Banana a housing crash is good for everyone but boomers, pretty much.

@EvilSandmich @Marshall1Banana @sickburnbro they'd rather engage in a scorched earth policy on their own countrymen than have to hear about it
by all rights a bunch of people in this regime should be in prison, but they'll get treated differently because they're shit fuck lawyers and politicians

@egirlyuumimain @sickburnbro @s2208 @dictatordave @Marshall1Banana When people live in a zip code then even their house is just another commodity. Their dedication to their community only goes so far as their ability to work a housing arbitrage scheme.

@EvilSandmich @egirlyuumimain @s2208 @dictatordave @Marshall1Banana real strip mall mindset.
That's actually one of the cores of "boomer mindset"
'community doesn't matter, just access to goods - so make it as cheap and degrading as possible'

While you are not wrong, it obviates the point; far too many Boomers are far too concerned about "Getting Mine", even when their own children are suffering right in front of them. My own daughter is grown now and just finishing a degree in landscape architecture; I am there to help her whenever she needs it, because she is my child. I don't need any other reason.

@BattleDwarfGimli @dictatordave @s2208 @D-Droid @EvilSandmich @Marshall1Banana @bloggerski they are used to a system that "runs right" and so they can just focus on fighting for "me,me,me"

@BattleDwarfGimli @bloggerski @s2208 @D-Droid @EvilSandmich @Marshall1Banana @sickburnbro if he's smart and can move through the trades, there's a massive crisis right now for foremen, in like all trades
our guys on average are like 63, all white guys btw, the spics do the grunt work, but even they are starting to become more prevalent in the mechanical trades

This conversation took place here at the firm about half an hour ago. One of our intake clerks is a 72-yr old Boomer who goes on 2-3 Europe trips a year with her husband, then comes back and talks about how great it was. She just got back from Rome, and Palermo.
Her son is 38, living at home, has no prospects, does whatever work he can find (nobody hires White guys anymore) and has nothing.
Socrates and Cephalus discuss inheritance at length in book 1 of Plato's "Republic". Well worth reading.

@D-Droid @s2208 @EvilSandmich @Marshall1Banana @sickburnbro it will be pretty hilarious when boomers run out their cash reserves before their life clocks run out and they're forced to go hat in hand back to their relatives they snubbed over coof and blumpft and what not

@mothersmurfer @BattleDwarfGimli @dictatordave @s2208 @D-Droid @EvilSandmich @Marshall1Banana @bloggerski I think quite a few gen X had parents who weren't boomers though. if someone was early gen X, their parents would have had to been 20.

@BattleDwarfGimli @dictatordave @s2208 @D-Droid @EvilSandmich @Marshall1Banana @bloggerski @sickburnbro You feel that way because you're GenX. We're the ones who watched our Boomer parents relentlessly act like greedy, spoiled children and devour everything around them.
