@ChasingWaterfalls Most (if not all) of those drugs were only tested on men. But it's your fault that a drug that was not designed for, or tested on, women does not react well inside your female body?
What a pack of arseholes.

@BILLSan345 @polarisera @GrumpyOldNurse @LadyMont I'm not sure that's quite what they have in mind when they talk about being 'trapped in the wrong body' ! 😆

@BILLSan345 @polarisera @GrumpyOldNurse @LadyMont Chesticles sounds like something a twelve year old boy might come up with.
Funny how so many of these 'neutral' terms are based on words for male anatomy.

@agorahills They do understand that we want our own spaces. It is very important to them that women should not be allowed to have anything for ourselves. It must all be shared with males.

@jmakesart I think you're right. Everyone knows that prostitution and homelessness are miserable experiences, but sex work and houseless sound much less upsetting, and possibly chosen.
George Carlin did a whole rant about this type of euphemism.

@jmakesart This word really irritates me on several levels.
People live in all kinds of structures: caravans, boats, appartments... They don't have houses, but they do have homes. The emotional significance of 'home' is important. It suggests safety and stability and privacy: things that homeless people do not have. Calling them 'houseless' instead, almost hides how dangerous and depressing homelessness can be.
I would be interested to know how this change came about, and willing to bet money that those pushing for the change are not, themselves, homeless.

@Fullycaffeinated @LadyMont @HebrideanHecate Or even just let her sit back in the car until she's ready to move around. I honestly think that being made to walk around immediately after birth would be even worse than giving birth in the car park.
I took the midwifes, "She's ok," to be a shorter and politer way of telling the cops to leave because the woman doesn't need (and probably doesn't want) an audience.

@Biff @Piss_Ant @Cousin_Isobel You're right. I was being a bit too harsh there.

@Biff @Piss_Ant @Cousin_Isobel I'm glad they've finally seen sense and everything, but this reminds me a lot of those blokes who do not understand that sexual assault and harassment are wrong until they have a daughter.

@Piss_Ant Fair enough. I'm glad to hear that your other symptoms are gone.

@Piss_Ant Is it falling asleep that's the problem, or being woken by nightmares? If it's the former, some of the older (pre SSRI) anti depressants cause 'drowsiness' so can help with this if taken at night. They're helpful for some of the waking-hours ptsd symptoms too.
(I put drowsiness in scare quotes, as for the first few weeks of taking these, it was like someone hit my off switch about 20 mins after taking them. No gradual sleepiness, just 'Oh shit, gonna fall asleep, gotta lie down NOW!)

@Piss_Ant @FemaleIsNotAFeeling I wonder if her lawyers will attempt a 'rough sex' defence. It seems to have quite a good success rate for the men who use it.

@jmakesart My kids are too old for barbies, but I'd get the whole set for myself!
Every single thing on that list looks way more fun than the usual ballerina/wedding/fashion show barbies.

@HebrideanHecate Call me a prude, but the obvious advice would be STOP PISSING ON YOUR WIFE.
FFS how did we get so fucking stupid, as a species?

@Chronic-Yonic He's leaving because he's not allowed to call women slurs anymore. He also calls EM (and presumably any man he dislikes and deems weak) 'bitch'. I'm sure the women of twitter will be so sad to see him go.
See ya later, woman hater.

@HebrideanHecate Charging people more for whatever substance they are addicted to doesn't make them use it any less, it just makes them poorer. Just ask any smoker who's ever been skint enough to have to choose between cigs and groceries!

@TriptychTwins-partdeux Must have been tempting to draw on her with sharpies or something, like when someone falls asleep at a party!

@HebrideanHecate @Chronic-Yonic The double standards around drug safety when breastfeeding/whatever the fuck it is when men do it are insane.
Women suffer all manner of illnesses and pains with no medication because it *might* harm the babies. (Taking the pill is ok though, cos you've got to resume sexual availability ASAP or Nigel might get sad.)
But if you have a dick, it's safe to take any amount of drugs and let them pass into the 'milk'.

@Chronic-Yonic I'm almost afraid to ask, but who is supposed to gestate this grandchild?
-

@Aflowernamedyou @Chronic-Yonic I agree. People wanted to pretend their sons weren't gay. Then they wanted to pretend their kids weren't drug users. Now they want to pretend thatyhey weren't wrong to support transing because trooning out is all glittery rainbows and happily ever after. And journos go along with it, because what sort of person deliberately hurts the feelings of a grieving parent? But in the longer term, those lies are not helping anyone, they're contributing to homophobia, denial, and unsafe choices.
