But really, it was about abolishing social housing. And they've pretty much achieved that now. Council housing still exists, but unless you tick every single box and get the maximum amount of points, you'll die of old age while still on the waiting list.
Case in point, friend has a disability, has kid with a disability, grew up in care, fled domestic violence (all of which gets you more points) and still had to live in refuge (which means she was legally homeless) for nearly a year waiting to be housed. If she didn't have kids, she would almost certainly have ended up street homeless.
