@nicholas@mushroom_soup They're not great literature, but they got a lot of kids reading. They also have layers of message in the text that are good to imbibe; loyalty, doing the right thing even when it's difficult, a sense of right and wrong, self-sacrifice etc. Not new ideas, but a good retelling. They will always have a place in my affections for the time they were written when my son couldn't wait for the next one to come out and we read them together.
@Chronic-Yonic If two people decide to share their lives, to be intimate, understanding, mutually dependent, strong together, have families together, then governments find it harder to control them. If we kill intimacy and turn us all into individuals (with a veneer of *I'm so special and unique*) that demand immediate satisfaction and gratification, then we are easier to control. Panem et Circenses. This rise in porn and the genderwoo is a deliberate move to reduce us all to interchangeable units; units of work, units of consumption, and units of physical bodies. Men are more susceptible to porn because of the male sex drive, so they can consume it with the effect of making each view less effective. Therefore they need more of it and more depravity, just to achieve any level of interest. It's an escalating addiction. Women and girls comply if they are susceptible to social shaming; nobody wants to be the prude. This is why they always target children. Once established, these mindsets can be hard to overturn. We are living in truly wicked times.
@ForBritain This isn't a bug, it's a feature. This is the end goal, so we can eat the processed slop they have lined up for us and then take their drugs to combat the effects of their processed slop.
@ForBritain Starving a population is a good means of control. Starving people will take food from anyone handing it out, regardless of the price they will have to pay (and I don't mean money).
@HebrideanHecate@Fullycaffeinated@FeartnTired Where did it all go wrong? Answers on a postage stamp. I was at Teacher Training college in the 80s with prospective teachers who didn't want to read or learn anything that wasn't on the syllabus. I worked with people who used the poor behaviour of children to bully staff ("He's ok when he's in MY class."). The system rewarded lack of resilience and adopted ideologies that reinforced it. It's not their fault they can't read; it's (insert -ism/-phobia here) and the managers who played ball got promotion. The people who suffer are the teachers that find themselves outside the nonsense and the pupils who can do less than nothing after years of "education" that isn't fit for purpose. And people wonder why I won't go back.
@ForBritain I have little sympathy left for those who parroted the media line on "green" and now realise they've been lied to. They were happy to shill for the parasitic class because the MSM told them it would make they good people.
P*ssing off the government one post at a time. Definitely a dinosaur. Idiots, bores and virtue signallers need not apply. Whatever your cult is, I don't do it. Clean out of fucks to give.
