@freepatriot We're meant to be bored of it now so we'll forget that sexual predators and criminals are in positions of power. There'll be another distraction along in a minute that the media will encourage us to emote over.
@Blackgendermoderate That isn't DEI; that's meritocracy. Smart people should be in charge of things. They were hired for their competence. This is what should be happening.
@glinner Not understanding what any of it means is the point. If people understood that it meant sterilising kids, bastardising the language, stopping men and women having single sex spaces and forcing people to pretend that cross-dressing men are the most special of all, then this cause would have stopped before it even got going.
@AnungIkwe@helenstaniland Free speech for all. Now the world can see him and hear him. We now know that his definition of a woman is a man who wears a pretty dress. And we may judge accordingly.

KeepTakingTheSoma@prishamosley This is an interesting one. Art is about exploring ideas and people should be free to make the art they want. It will stand or fall on box office and reviews, and people are also free to react to it and comment about it as they see fit. The idea that such a story will normalise wickedness is true, just as it is true that humans are complex and have reasons or even justifications for their wickedness. It is also true that even villains can have a redemption arc within the narrative. (I write pantomimes for my drama group, so these are themes that I consider). This is the power of stories. A story is a story, but it is also much more. When riffing around traditional tales, it's important to understand the source material. And never forget that an effective villain is one whose power and influence is seductive.
@Sherri_Ingrey I think we should do a trial run whereby we can track Bill Gates and every politician he owns. We'll install screens in every town and live-stream their day-to-day comings and goings. They can earn points based on likes and spend them on food and energy allowance. Dislikes can see them having things taken off them. After a few years of this, let's see how keen they are.
@Sherri_Ingrey Over twenty years ago I knew a nurse whose friend (also a nurse who travelled between clients doing home visits) had been sacked. A colleague she kindly gave a lift home to regularly noticed cigarette butts in her car and reported her for smoking on duty. She only smoked in her own car between clients, never in their presence and never in the health centre, but the management concluded that being in her own car was the same as being in the health centre. I wonder who gave this colleague a lift home thereafter. This type of mindset will always be with us. The internet has just magnified it. The causes will change, but the spiteful spirit will not go away.
@freshsardonic@walterkirn I think the use of AI in a number of contexts for more years than we think is a dirty little secret that many would prefer we knew nothing about.
@freepatriot There will still be people who beg for it. Remember 2020? To get it over the line, all they have to say is that opposing digital ID is far right white supremacy.
P*ssing off the government one post at a time. Definitely a dinosaur. Idiots, bores and virtue signallers need not apply. Whatever your cult is, I don't do it. Clean out of fucks to give.
