   Well, some time between 4 and 5 this morning, the dog (Coco) went. Last meal was a little steak but she wouldn't eat, the chemo had her nauseated. She was in remission from the first round, but it started to come back (epithelial lymphoma, large-cell, apparently not a goot prognosis) so the vet retried with a stronger dose a couple of weeks ago, but she never got over that hump.
   
   Think it was peaceful. She was on some new anti-nausea meds, so her last day was better than her last two weeks. In any case she slep through the night instead of waking up several times to shit or, since starting the new chemo, waking up to vomit.
   
   Last meal was a couple of pieces of the fillet from a porterhouse that I'd gotten to celebrate the first paycheck (turns out dog cancer can wipe you out). She didn't eat it but smiled like she did when you tossed her food or fixed her blanket, then she buried it under her pillow for later. We'd usually give her a bit and let let the cats have a pass at the bone and then let her spend a few days on it. (She was old so even small bones like that took her a few days.)
   
   Never met a dog quite like this. Never ate shoes or chewed furniture, only barked at cops. I hear she'd chase down guys that were smoking 27s when I wasn't around. ( I eventually went to vaporizers and then nothing.)
   
   These are some photos when she was healthy. I didn't take too many photos after she got skinny. (Around this time last year she went from 75lbs. to 45 in two months, we weren't sure what was wrong with her. She regained the weight after first round and got up to 70 but the muscle wasting from the steroids had made it hard for her to walk.)
   
   Anyway, she died in her own bed, under her own blanket, instead of at the vet's office. She'll end up under the avocado tree she enjoyed so much.
   
   So, anyway, I'm hammered and if anyone is looking for me, I'll be drinking more.

     Speaking of drinking, some dogs will finish your beer. She wouldn't.
     
     Basically, one night when we lived in El Monte (years before FSE existed), I was all the way out of it and running around the house with the stereo all the way up, and she was not sure what was going on but wanted to participate so I sloshed some of a white Russian into her food bowl, she drank all of it, then stumbled around a while and did her best sorority girl impersonation in the back yard. She never touched a drop again.
     
     Anyway, still extremely in the Whistlepig so I'll get back to you in a day or two.

     @sjw Yeah, I'm just glad she had a good day before she kicked it. Last couple of weeks she had it rough, new course of chemo was doing a number on her.
     
     (Apparently dog chemo is relatively mild, she regained most of her weight, but they had to go aggressive for the second round when remission stopped, and those were probably the worst two weeks.)

     Now you are kicking a dead dog in order to make some sort of point. You're addressing me because it was my dog and you want to make a point about politics and you're petty enough that it seemed like a good idea to you. (I have been inundated with "mean words on the internet" on a daily basis for years: you will have to try harder if you want to evoke anything besides contempt.) The point is so poorly made that I'm not sure what your point is. ("If your dead dog had been one of the people celebrated by glorious party orthodoxy, different people would have shat on you!" I can guarantee that exactly the same people would have shat on me that have been shitting on me since the beginning.) Effort trying to decipher your point is wasted: I do not expect you're worth listening to. You do not know what the policy is here and have never asked and have never listened and have never answered a question I asked and you, while shitting the place up, assume that I get shat on less than whoever. (If you are looking for the anti-trans brigade, they are over at gleasonator.com and spinster.xyz..) The one thing that did come through is the hostility. Since you don't listen to anything I say, and you're this much of an asshole, why should I bother to listen to anything you say? I'll tell you the same thing I tell the other Nazis: next time you show up to give orders to someone you can't bother to converse with, give me a reason to care. Common courtesy was extended and not returned, common courtesy stretched and finally snapped off last time, and now you've come to shit on it, like you are a long-running false flag operation paid to make your "side" look bad. Absent common courtesy, there's no reason to care what you have to say. If I had a dramatic change of worldview and no longer cared about freedom of speech, you'd be in the same bucket as those "cunts" you insist need to be "moderated".

     @11112011 @p I got a rescue puppy about a month after my 1st dog passed. I always said he rescued me from my depression. He passed away a yr ago. I still miss him. I still have my girl dog, after she's gone, no more pets for me. It's too hard. 🌼💗🐾

     Good to have a dog around, just in case. When my grandmother was in her mid-50s, she ran over a beehive with the lawnmower (big yard with woods on three sides and on the other side, an unnamed road with more woods on the other side of it, nature sometimes nudged back); if we hadn't had a dog that ran in and jumped on the beehive, that might have been it for her. Instead, just a few days in the hospital for grandma, and dog's fur was so thick that she was fine. (Australian blue heeler. A really good one for the region, plus always willing to have an adventure with my brother and me in the woods.) So, you know:
     
     > no more pets for me. It's too hard.
     
     Good to have a friend around.

     Not only are you an asshole, but an asshole that has accused me of being deceptive about my arguments. Here it is, in very brief, very simple words:
     
     You wish to maintain the orthodoxy and prevent anyone that is weird from poking holes in it, so you are fine with censorship. Your alleged opposition wants to replace the current status quo with their own orthodoxy. I am convinced that a status quo that cannot stand some words is not worth preserving, and being a weird fucker myself, am interested in ensuring that whatever the orthodoxy is, it is safe to oppose or ignore it.
     
     You are happy to deliver proscription but without paying attention to the situation that you tell other people how they should handle it. You never answer a question, you never ask a question, you never actually converse. You're a blind megaphone, a chatbot made of meat, an inert coward hiding behind rhetoric to support the status quo. This means you're safe to ignore and time would be better spent dealing with whoever originated the ideas you parrot.

     I had to spring my wife from the hospital each time she gave birth. They'll try to hold you there via all sorts of tactics (to bill), from lying about their legal obligations to saying that there isn't a doctor on staff to can discharge the patient.
     
     One time they even sent in a counselor to question her about "spousal abuse" because I went full lawyer on them after they refused to discharge. She was like.... "he's nice to me, he just hates you fucks."
     
     We were both absolutely appalled that they did that. I had a very cordial conversation with the medical director afterward.
     
     One time they charged us for three days of rooming because my wife was admitted at 5 minutes to midnight (day 1), was in the delivery room after midnight (day 2), and was moved to another room a few hours later, after giving birth (day 3). In reality she was there for 16 hours. They wanted $10k. I offered $5k. They said "no," and I never paid. Statute of limitations has since ran.
