@BeAware @Free_Press Many years ago, I had a lecturer in computer science who had worked on one of the first "fly by wire" systems installed on commercial passenger jets - I forget which one. Which as I understand it (admittedly very limited) means there was no physical linkage between the pilot's controls and the actual hardware-steering, etc. So the system could override the pilot

He refused to fly on one. I think of this occasionally
