   There is a new thing people that approach me for projects say now.

   "Can we do it with AI?"

   Erm, how about we just program it?

   "I think it will be better with AI!"

   This is one of the more painful bandwagons.

     @selzero 😉 sure... Do you have the budget for it? Going to add fifty percent to the development cost, and then there's the extra server capacity... Sounds good?

     Then just program it and slap an AI logo on it.

     @selzero same thing in the company I work for. Someone always asks in an all-hands meeting “any plans for implementing AI in our product?” No one yet has offered ideas how/if it could work in our particular business, just "let's have AI!”

     Answer from upper management is still no, thankfully.

     @selzero My friend in the military used to say, “People act like it’s a seasoning. As in ‘Can we add some AI to it?’”

     We’ve now upgraded AI to a main ingredient and/or the method of cooking.
