   Went to a C of E school but not a Christian. Was never once asked to light the assembly candle in 8 years of attendance – genuinely the only kid who hadn't. Stole it on my last day in year 6. Still have it, 20 years later.

     @fesshole I went to a CofE school - several, in fact. Never heard of an "assembly" candle, though. Is this a thing?
