LisbonMuse (lisbonmuse@spinster.xyz)'s status on Monday, 18-Dec-2023 01:38:08 JST LisbonMuse @alex @polarisera I hope so. Some things have seemingly gotten better, but I feel like they've traveled us so far down their path that we're willing to settle for goalposts that have shifted further than they ever should have. -

LisbonMuse (lisbonmuse@spinster.xyz)'s status on Monday, 18-Dec-2023 01:24:32 JST LisbonMuse @polarisera @alex Yeah, they cry when something like this happens but constantly tear down statues they take offense to. Agree with Matty, they used their "free speech" to take away ours. It's pointless being the bigger person, people need to fight back.
Plus the "church of Satan" is edgelord supreme. They're all contrarian atheists who just want religious grounds to spew shitlibs talking points. I think I'd have more respect for them if they actually worshipped Satan lol -

LisbonMuse (lisbonmuse@spinster.xyz)'s status on Sunday, 19-Nov-2023 10:25:05 JST LisbonMuse @alex Lots of followers out there. I'm reading through the thread and people are saying kids get bullied, or adults get rejected in the dating world, for having an android. Is this just redditors being dramatic?
I know iPhones are a status symbol for idiots, but to actually be rejected for something like that? -

LisbonMuse (lisbonmuse@spinster.xyz)'s status on Saturday, 28-Oct-2023 06:35:47 JST LisbonMuse @Sherri_Ingrey @Flick The nuclear family is a new concept and doesn't make much sense. It leaves the woman alone, isolated, doing three or four jobs for no paycheck, recognition, or respect. Gosh I wish I could remember who, but triggernometry interviewed someone who said that prior to the industrial revolution, most people "worked from home" - think like farmers, where the entire family contributed and worked together. Then when the industrial revolution happened, women had to choose between going out to work or stay at home, because you can't take your kids to a factory. And what's the choice then? Especially if you're breastfeeding a baby.
And even prior to one family isolating themselves, you had multigenerational families. In tribal times there would be a "mother's village" where the women would raise the children. See the themes? Support, community, working together.
This isolation that the "nuclear family" brought isn't normal or historical. -

LisbonMuse (lisbonmuse@spinster.xyz)'s status on Saturday, 28-Oct-2023 06:35:26 JST LisbonMuse @polarisera @Flick Yes I think that's a good distinction too...having certain themes underlying a story can be great. Like I've read the Great Gatsby a few times and there are themes of feminism, classism, but it's not thrown in your face either. It's a story and you interpret and take what you find out of it. But also you wouldn't read the Great Gatsby without some notion you're going to be looking for themes and depth. A lot of people get peeved when they go see what looks like an innocent movie and suddenly you're being called racist or something. -

LisbonMuse (lisbonmuse@spinster.xyz)'s status on Saturday, 28-Oct-2023 06:35:25 JST LisbonMuse @PonyPanda @Flick @polarisera Lol I see that angle, especially if a guy is just relating to gatsby...but think of the line from Daisy "that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful fool."
Not even the biggest theme, but enough for them to talk in class about it lol. -

LisbonMuse (lisbonmuse@spinster.xyz)'s status on Saturday, 28-Oct-2023 06:29:19 JST LisbonMuse @senryu @Flick I noticed that and agree..he about had an aneurysm about the Barbie movie. I can only guess he didn't know going in it was a political film. He said they shit on motherhood because the girl's broke the dolls - like did he even watch the last part of the film? Not everyone's cup of tea but so much went over his head. -

LisbonMuse (lisbonmuse@spinster.xyz)'s status on Saturday, 28-Oct-2023 06:29:17 JST LisbonMuse @Flick I was watching the Critical Drinker on YouTube, and he made the point that cinema isn't enjoyable anymore because they try to use their movie as a way to "teach" you something rather than tell a story. Every film needs to drive in some moral conviction on the viewer instead of just telling a story.
I think this post relates to that because companies are doing the same thing. You can't just go out and buy something...no, now there's a "message" you need to learn from their product. And 99% of the time, that message is to make you feel guilty and bigoted.
Media, companies, etc. need to understand that people just want to be left alone. Most people don't want some politics thrown in their face when they're watching a football game. But then you say that and you're some privileged bigot for not caring about whatever group is deemed the biggest victim that day. It's really hardened many people and the guilt used on us who try to ignore it only gets people angrier, then they pull the old bait and switch when you get angry and say "why do you care so much?" I don't know, maybe because I can't even go to the grocery store without seeing something about climate change, trannies, or BLM anymore. AND they want to push these "morals" on children - which only stresses them out because they're powerless to really do anything about it.
It's all creating extremists on both sides and it's a big reason I feel like society is failing now. -

I hope your nephew doesn't see too much from it :/ -

LisbonMuse (lisbonmuse@spinster.xyz)'s status on Saturday, 21-Oct-2023 02:57:15 JST LisbonMuse @FemaleIsNotAFeeling @tangleofsnakes You're so right, still depressing to read though. I remember growing up with fairytales and wanting that perfect boy and romance, and then almost all the boys my age were talking about sexual shit. This is why I can't go against less romantic media being made for girls. We don't stand a chance if we're raised to expect a respectable, romantic partner while boys are being raised with any porn. I see people bitching like "where are all the love stories" when they remake a story but take out the romance, but I think it's the best option to do that to protect girls and expectations that will be shattered eventually. Unless porn leaves society, and morals and respect are brought back, I advocate against romantic stories being shown to girls.
And yes, exactly about how EASY it is to find. Recently some state made some age verification for online porn, and people threw a fit over it (wasn't it Texas?). Their "rights" and privacy to watching rape porn outweighed protecting children. But like you said, they would have needed ID for video stores, etc. But there was shame in that. People have gotten used to not feeling shame when they're being a peeping Tom pervert in a society that's normalized something so fucking damaging and wrong to everyone involved. -

LisbonMuse (lisbonmuse@spinster.xyz)'s status on Saturday, 21-Oct-2023 02:57:15 JST LisbonMuse @FemaleIsNotAFeeling @tangleofsnakes I got in a twitter argument with some woman who was saying that it's predatory for older men to go after younger women but it was fine the other way way around, because guys bodies are bigger? Idk it was really bizarre. I said "well if you're going to go by body size, technically most boys after puberty will be suitable." And I went on trying to make the point that the issue with age gaps is maturity. Older people aren't at the same maturity level as younger people, and in fact it's a little insulting to women to say we're on the same maturity level as a younger man. Like they're giving power to older men getting with younger women but women don't have this same power - I'm in my mid to late twenties and I can't connect to someone in their early twenties, especially intimately. People need to be with people at their level. -

LisbonMuse (lisbonmuse@spinster.xyz)'s status on Saturday, 21-Oct-2023 02:57:13 JST LisbonMuse @LaylaAlexandrovna @Sherri_Ingrey @tangleofsnakes @FemaleIsNotAFeeling I was listening to Pink Floyd's "Animals" album and they had a lyric in it with "Whitehouse" and I thought they were calling out the government...you know "Whitehouse." (I know they're not American.) Then I looked it up and they were calling out Mary Whitehouse who was an anti-porn activist (but mainly for religious reasons).
It's just ironic to me that these rockers "sticking it to the man" were doing everything "the man" wanted them to do but painted it out to be rebellious because evil, religious people were against it. And yet the people who spoke out against it were somehow the sheep and bad guys. -

LisbonMuse (lisbonmuse@spinster.xyz)'s status on Monday, 25-Sep-2023 02:52:17 JST LisbonMuse @HebrideanHecate Of course they'd take this as a personal attack. When your identity is on having "pride" for yourself, you create narcissism. No, couldn't be this is protecting the baby and the women they're using.
Do they even think how detrimental it is to put women through this? Women who need money so they have to sell their bodies and risk their lives. Or the baby, who's ripped away from the beating heart it's known since the womb, into stranger's hands who view it as an item and not a human with emotions and vulnerability.
Good for Italy. -

LisbonMuse (lisbonmuse@spinster.xyz)'s status on Friday, 25-Aug-2023 07:38:18 JST LisbonMuse I'm sorry, I know I've ranted about this before, but I'm yelling into the void on Twitter and need a place to be heard.
Males did not evolve to grow babies. EVERYTHING in a woman evolved this way. Our skin is stretchier, theirs would break. Our pelvis allows a baby to come out, theirs would never. Our blood vessels get routed naturally to the womb. My organs MOVED during pregnancy for my child to have room to grow, then moved BACK for months after. Our hormones know EXACTLY what the baby needs from us. Our bodies know exactly how much nutrition to give them and us.
It takes FAR MORE than frankensteining in a uterus in a male to grow a baby. A male body will never be able to do this. They are fighting millions of years of evolution for a fetish that will fail. And healthcare agencies even pretending they have a chance at succeeding are lying through their asses. It's like how they tried to "validate" these men by saying the stuff excreting from their nipples is even comparable to breastmilk.
We shouldn't even be giving this the time of day, but the insistence from actual doctors lying to these men makes me want to post this. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but dammit, the insanity and lies people keep spewing is too much for me not to write a thoughtpost on it.
