     @LaylaAlexandrovna @Sherri_Ingrey @tangleofsnakes @FemaleIsNotAFeeling I was listening to Pink Floyd's "Animals" album and they had a lyric in it with "Whitehouse" and I thought they were calling out the government...you know "Whitehouse." (I know they're not American.) Then I looked it up and they were calling out Mary Whitehouse who was an anti-porn activist (but mainly for religious reasons).
     
     It's just ironic to me that these rockers "sticking it to the man" were doing everything "the man" wanted them to do but painted it out to be rebellious because evil, religious people were against it. And yet the people who spoke out against it were somehow the sheep and bad guys.

     @tangleofsnakes I know 18 is technically an adult, but I can't help but seeing 18 year old males as children. I'm in my 30s now and when I was 31, I dated a guy who was 25 for a short while and he just seemed like a fucking child. I can't really explain it...it's just like the maturity level was so not there...even at 25. My god I can't imagine dating someone as young as 18...I just cannot relate to people that young at this age. Run far and fast...that kid would annoy the fuck out of you. Garanteed.

     @FemaleIsNotAFeeling @tangleofsnakes I got in a twitter argument with some woman who was saying that it's predatory for older men to go after younger women but it was fine the other way way around, because guys bodies are bigger? Idk it was really bizarre. I said "well if you're going to go by body size, technically most boys after puberty will be suitable." And I went on trying to make the point that the issue with age gaps is maturity. Older people aren't at the same maturity level as younger people, and in fact it's a little insulting to women to say we're on the same maturity level as a younger man. Like they're giving power to older men getting with younger women but women don't have this same power - I'm in my mid to late twenties and I can't connect to someone in their early twenties, especially intimately. People need to be with people at their level.

     @LisbonMuse @tangleofsnakes Totally...and the sexuality thing with young men...they grew up porn-soaked and have a really warped view of what sex and intimacy is. That's not to say older men can't be as well, but the younger boys never knew any different, having been born in the age of easily-accessible online porn.
     
     They say the average age today that boys are exposed to porn is 7-12. That is so fucking young.
     
     Before that, you had to be 18 and had to go in-person to a shop and buy a magazine or go to a seedy little shop with a little dark room in the back to view porn. But online porn today is everywhere and it's basically sex education for boys. And they see the horrible "gonzo porn" at such a young age...like the gang rape porn and the super violent stuff etc and they think that's what sex is. "Normal" sex without all the gimmicks and violence is shamed as "vanilla" these days. I.e. not exciting...boring.
     
     Once a guy I was talking to on a dating app who was in his late 20s asked me if I like hand cuffs and to be choked...like are you fucking kidding me?? That was the end of that. Never date a porn user, ladies. They are fucked up beyond repair.

I remember growing up with fairytales and wanting that perfect boy and romance, and then almost all the boys my age were talking about sexual shit. This is why I can't go against less romantic media being made for girls. We don't stand a chance if we're raised to expect a respectable, romantic partner while boys are being raised with any porn. I see people bitching like "where are all the love stories" when they remake a story but take out the romance, but I think it's the best option to do that to protect girls and expectations that will be shattered eventually. Unless porn leaves society, and morals and respect are brought back, I advocate against romantic stories being shown to girls.
     
     And yes, exactly about how EASY it is to find. Recently some state made some age verification for online porn, and people threw a fit over it (wasn't it Texas?). Their "rights" and privacy to watching rape porn outweighed protecting children. But like you said, they would have needed ID for video stores, etc. But there was shame in that. People have gotten used to not feeling shame when they're being a peeping Tom pervert in a society that's normalized something so fucking damaging and wrong to everyone involved.

Before a boy has ever been alone in the company of a girl, he could have had thousands of neural pathway-restructuring experiences that have made him a lifelong unsuitable companion, sexual or otherwise. To be frank, a girl that has had trouble with inserting a tampon during her early years is going to be mentally terrorized by fisting "jokes." She is not going to forget the implied threat and the truth the "jokes" reveal.

     @tangleofsnakes @LisbonMuse I was about that age too when I was exposed to it...about 12 or 13. I remember hearing the term "blow job" from kids being thrown around at school and googled that at home...I found out real fast what it was.

     This is so true pretty much across the board and I am 100% against it. My sister got my nephew a smart phone for his 10th birthday and when I saw him open that up, my eyes grew so wide and my heart just sank.
     
     If he was my son, there wouldn't even be a debate. There would be NO smart phone, period! And if anyone wanted to argue about needing one for emergencies, then get your damn kid a flip phone that doesn't have internet. Yes, they still sell them today. I don't know why that's so hard. It pisses me off so much. Really disagree with my sister on that choice.
