- Embed this notice@polarisera @Flick Yes I think that's a good distinction too...having certain themes underlying a story can be great. Like I've read the Great Gatsby a few times and there are themes of feminism, classism, but it's not thrown in your face either. It's a story and you interpret and take what you find out of it. But also you wouldn't read the Great Gatsby without some notion you're going to be looking for themes and depth. A lot of people get peeved when they go see what looks like an innocent movie and suddenly you're being called racist or something.
