Can we get it in writing, will you sign the contract demanding free trade forever and ever (not just until the next Democrat admin?) Yup, sign the contract you'll support free trade, fucking morons (who've never hire/fired, made a product, filed a patent, sold to retailers, or done anything with your miserable self-righteous lives).
@lain You could make less on a 50,000 widget order for Big Box (FOB), than a 15,000 order for Amazon you ship to your own warehouses, then ship to Amazons (yes, Amazon still buys direct, though most of it is FBA). The economics is insane. But Amazon has gotten shittier and shittier, requiring you to ship to multiple warehouses, killing the comparison.
@lain I was literally at a conference on out-sourcing and had to inform the speaker (and the audience) about freight consolidation and costing for big boxes orders. The world is retarded. Yes, many people came up to me afterwards.
@lain I know shitlibs have never cared about manufactures in America, ever. They've cared about union votes, but nothing else. We have small batch manufacture exceptions, but not much. Shipping goods from china only worked because of freight consolidation at the big box stores in the ports of china (instead of shipping everything independently), which even "conservatives" seem too retarded to know about. China and Big Box Monopoly go hand in hand.
Instinctively I'm against tariffs, but when it pisses shitlibs off this much, I'm now sure there's some bribery and kickbacks going on, some major NGO fuckery about. I know shitlibs were all for tariffs.
"Indifference To Working People Behind Elite Panic Over Tariffs"
@Sherri_Ingrey Women have always worked, except the most upper of upper crusts. Shows they don't even know the working class worked, with poor wages, poor health, no economic security, in hazardous and dangerous conditions.
@lain If we examine the moron-brain, while taxes on gasoline hit the poor, they the moron-brain won't notice because of the messaging. The GOP never fights morons with moron-messaging. We need to call it Income Tariffs. We need to call it a Gasoline Tariffs.
@lain You have to consider if NPR is against Tariffs, there's something else going, some NGO/kickback scheme is being exposed. Cause the tards of NPR have never been right about anything, and they've never had the American's interest, only their elite, woke, over-educated retarded friends
@lain And you know what's not mentioned in Hazlitt ? Prototyping and tooling. This is the biggest radical change in the history of mankind, and it's no where. One and only one country focused on making prototyping cheap, and it's not America. America focused on making it expensive and a barrier to entry, with massively distorted markets creating a cost disease with the MIC/areospace/biotech destroying any nascent prototyping services.
@lain I think of Tariffs like Prohibition. You're going to have to create a policing body, and you're going to get organized crime. I only look at it from the police state tango with organized crime, since gangsters compromise the police pretty quickly, it's leads to lawlessness.
I also think Trump is just playing "Art of the Deal" letting the abusers know America is ready to fight back.
We already had a textile fiasco when we put quotas on china-made garments, and outsourcerers ran to india and thailand, who are backward-ass and can't manage a factory. But why study history.
@dcc@lain@mitchconner@sim@echo@hakui I watch for ignorance smoothing. Declaring all calories "equal" without regard to the enzymes/stages/time, etc, is ignorance smoothing.
@dcc@lain@mitchconner@sim@echo@hakui There is a theory about resetting your calorie "set point" with tasteless calories with a one hour window before and after. In fact, before Pharma said we're all a bunch of simple machines with no feedback, systems theory was investigated as regulatory to caloriefat cycle.
@mitchconner@lain@echo@hakui There is an out-of-favor theory about hunger and calorie density cravings. If you're hungry, your body has a "memory" of calorie-dense foods (ie sugary, fake-ass shit). But because you're in famine mode, your body takes this sugary shit and stores it as fat. This may be more permanent than we'd like to admit. Creating a stress-induced maladapted metabolism (well, actually adapted to famine conditions)
@KeepTakingTheSoma@freepatriot No, no, you've got it all wrong. The CIA used to do bad things. But they've totally changed now. They are the good guys. I mean, would they support troonery and child-mutilation surgery around the world if they weren't the good guys?
