I was once contacted by a recruiter, and being finally fed up with my employer at the time, I agreed to a meeting. My future boss's boss asked me right off the bat why I wanted to join their company. I looked him dead in the eye and said, "You called me."

They did offer the job, and I did take it, but it didn't last and I've been self employed for almost 20 years now. I could have made a ton more money if I'd stuck it out but I prefer not to deal with corporate bullshit.

This Epstein Files detonation isn't exactly about the Epstein Files. MAGA information insularity is part of how the cult is controlled but things under Trump have gotten so bad, so fast that most MAGA cannot fail to see it. Maybe a neighbor was detained by ICE. Or you know someone affected by the Texas flood. Or you're a Social Security recipient who can't get the help you need. You need a psychologically safe was to step out of the cult. Well if Xi was serious about wanting to invade Taiwan now would be the time to do it. Everyone knows Trump is a coward. But Russia's too weakened by a failed war in Ukraine to credibly threaten to take on Europe. This is of a piece with another recent rumor that "China can't let Putin lose the Ukraine war". Puffing themselves up, probably to scare Trump.

I called my Congressman's office today and said that if Dems get a chance to negotiate on this bill I want him to fight against the money for ICE and #AlligatorAuschwitz. Had a gal actually say to my face that we need to make more stuff here and I said "Sure, I suppose if we get poor enough we'll be happy to screw screws into the back of I phones." I want to point out that we are in the midst of fighting a coup d'etat over here so there really isn't a sense in which Americans "chose" what is happening to us and the world right now. Less than half of voters who showed up on November 5th chose Trump, and only a fraction of them support anything like what's happened since he took office. We have been attacked relentlessly by Russian propaganda. In that sense, this is what Putin chose. We're trying over here. Wish us luck.

Are you aware that Russia was phoning bomb threats into polling stations in Georgia? Closing voting in those neighborhoods "for a while"? Would you go back to vote after that? Are you aware of the long lines in early voting? Lots of Democratic voters can't afford a 3 hour or longer wait because they need every dollar they can earn for their families. These lines are created by Republicans to harm our voters. We have been attacked from a distance and from within.

Unfortunately in this day and age... the FEC Chairwoman, as an example, has publicly said "fuck off" but she no longer has access to any systems or her office. I'm sure plenty of lower-level staffers are in the same situation.

I guess Musk and his 19 flying monkeys can't be effectuating these shut offs, so a hearty "fuck you" to the federal employees "just following orders" inside these agencies right now.
