I want to point out that we are in the midst of fighting a coup d'etat over here so there really isn't a sense in which Americans "chose" what is happening to us and the world right now. Less than half of voters who showed up on November 5th chose Trump, and only a fraction of them support anything like what's happened since he took office. We have been attacked relentlessly by Russian propaganda. In that sense, this is what Putin chose. We're trying over here. Wish us luck.

Are you aware that Russia was phoning bomb threats into polling stations in Georgia? Closing voting in those neighborhoods "for a while"? Would you go back to vote after that? Are you aware of the long lines in early voting? Lots of Democratic voters can't afford a 3 hour or longer wait because they need every dollar they can earn for their families. These lines are created by Republicans to harm our voters. We have been attacked from a distance and from within.

Unfortunately in this day and age... the FEC Chairwoman, as an example, has publicly said "fuck off" but she no longer has access to any systems or her office. I'm sure plenty of lower-level staffers are in the same situation.

I guess Musk and his 19 flying monkeys can't be effectuating these shut offs, so a hearty "fuck you" to the federal employees "just following orders" inside these agencies right now.

Contemplating these developments his mind touches on a truly terrifying thought: could he have been a complete idiot, a mark, a loser who swallowed every single one of Trump's dumb and obvious lies?

I think we all need to contact our Senators on all these appalling picks. Patel is definitely on the no go list. We should not "obey in advance" and assume our democracy can't hold. Maybe we'll end up disappointed, but then we move on to the next fight. It's just so vital that we keep pushing and don't give up. #uspol

I've had people say "it wasn't that bad" to which I always answer "sure 700,000 unnecessary deaths wasn't that bad." This Trump 2.0 has really spun me out. Got in an amazing beef with a Trumper in a professional setting. Me goading him, him threatening me. Everyone else at the table supportive of me but heads down. You know what? Voter suppression already has worked. In 2024. I'm pretty sure those long-ass lines in early voting in swing states convinced voters that either (a) they shouldn't try to vote because they don't have the time or strength to endure the lines and/or (b) the long lines convinced them that the Democrats were going to win easily and so they didn't need to hassle with voting. And here we are.
