@NeonPurpleStar Beware of the propaganda. We are a huge country and a huge number of us weren't born here. Those of us that were are still trying to find our bearings in a very strange place. We're still in your camp, which is why russia and china meddle with us the way they do. Don't watch our news in Europe. Ask me. You need to know from people who live here.
That's just one small part of it. That's the part I control. There's another two acres that I am slowly wrestling out from my mom's control. She keeps digging up the ferns and it's a major point of contention between us.
I feel so sad for this poor old dog. She's got enough husky in her that she wants to go 20 miles a day, but too much pitbull and her knees are crap and she can't deal with the cold. She's 65 pounds, so about 20 pounds too much for me to carry any distance. She's the best dog in the world though, and an ambassador to the village dog that won't exist in the US in a decade or so.
Good to hear from you too. The big dog took my SO on a two mile hike today, and then had to be carried the last quarter mile to the car because she's old and her knees are shit. There's food going the garden, though, so we'll see what this year does.
Checking in temporarily. Spring came and I'm doing what I said I would be doing and planting everything I can. There is sun now and I feel a whole lot better. The dogs are thrilled to be out of the house and are a major pain in the ass. I'll be back soon.
Zelensky never fails to deliver. I need to get his public email and offer a huge apology.
You know me though, and I always look for the silver lining. A common enemy always unites a people. I'm glad the current regime is such a dumpster fire that we make a very palatable enemy.
I taught CS at university level for a few years, but my first degree was in biochem so I knew how brains work. Being rested is 90% of the game. My students did better because I was careful to schedule tests around other instructors, taught class outside on nice days (projecting on a wall), and hosted homework nights before tests that ended just late enough that everyone actually went to bed.
You aren't crazy, teachers just aren't generally very good.
