Why not be honest about it? Trump and his supporters want to restrict voting rights for minorities, especially black and Latino communities, as well as for low-income individuals, elderly voters, people with disabilities, students and rural voters.
Hopefully this endorsement means the kiss of death for Orbán.
Hungary wasn’t exactly “dragged” into WW1. Prime Minister Tisza initially opposed the war, worried about weakening Hungarian dominance and setting off a major European conflict. He later received assurances (no annexation of Serbia and protection of Hungarian political interests) and signed off anyway. After that, Austria-Hungary issued the ultimatum to Serbia, and Europe headed into its bloodiest war to that point.
So, Hungary was a reluctant but consenting partner.
Yes, reading that article, it's clear that Guido Crosetto said he has never believed Ukraine could “win” the war militarily. He framed this not negatively, but realistically. Thank you for posting the link to the article.
If we want Ukraine to actually win this war militarily, we need to give them even more support. I think the biggest hope is to fold the Kremlin regime through kinetic sanctions on Putin's home front. And the Ukrainians are well on their way on that front.
I hear you. One thing is clear... Europe and the remaining democratic countries must ramp up production of air defence hardware and fill the gaps left by the US's gradual withdrawal from NATO under Trump. Of course, there are other areas where they need to fill the gaps as well. E.g. nuclear deterrence.
You just had to send USD 5,000 to get the starter package, right?
Buy them a plunger.
Merry Maybe Christ's Birthday Eve! 🙂
After Western insurers withdrew, Russia’s shadow fleet is insured through an opaque patchwork of domestic Russian insurers, state-backed reinsurance, and offshore certificates. Outside the International Group of P&I clubs, coverage is often unclear or weak, with complex ownership and risky registries. This keeps oil moving but shifts accident, pollution, and legal risks to coastal states and third parties.

Someone will have to pay the tab. 🤗
There were the Russian "volunteers" who rolled into Donbas in fully equipped formations and the little green men who landed in Crimea in 2014.
Then there were the VDV who landed at Hostomel Airport in 2022 but left soon after because the Ukrainians weren't very hospitable.
Und so weiter...
'You go, bro!' A Russian soldier cheers on a Russian tank passing nearby. Well, this tank will certainly not going to cause any harm to anyone after this.

Here's the Wikipedia page:

"M60s are no longer in Greek service as of 2015 and are being scrapped. Greek forces continue to use a small number of M48A5 MOLFs in the Aegean islands."
No M60s, but still some M48A5s. 👀
This is one way to bring down a Russian Zala reconnaissance drone. 😎
The Russian in the Dobropillya area are true gluttons for punishment.
Metallica's "Master of Puppets" pretty much describes the Russian society. The master controls his puppets and leads them to die for him.
"Master of puppets, I'm pulling your strings
Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams
Blinded by me, you can't see a thing
Just call my name 'cause I'll hear you scream
Master, master
..."
Yes, I know the song is about substance abuse. But bad leaders are like hard drugs. They initially make you feel good but will eventually consume you.
Schnitzel ist wunderbar. 💕
They're truly charming to take. 🙂
It's great to see that tons of people still support Ukraine. If we recalculated this table based on population size, I'm sure the ranking would be quite different.
Just an armchair chieftain trying to make sense of world politics and conflicts. 100% pro-Ukraine, 100% pro-democracy.Born and raised in Sweden. Exported to Canada. Lived about half my life in Canada. I love both countries. The profile picture is a replica of a Viking helmet. And no, the Vikings didn't have horns on their helmets. That was introduced in Wagner's opera The Ring of the Nibelung. The header picture is of the Viking castle in Trelleborg (also called Trelleborgen).
