I think everyone is in a bad mood. I haven't slept well in a few days and my mom was more obnoxious than usual yesterday, which is awful. I'm about to tell her to find herself a psychiatrist or I'm leaving and she can take care of her own damn self.

Things just suck. I bought $75 worth of vegetable seeds last night and I'm about to start preparing the gardens for spring.

If you think food is expensive now, it will get much worse. There's a lot of talk in the US about Canadian oil becoming more expensive. That affects the cost of logistics. By percentage, we're less dependent on Canadian oil than we are potash. As far as I know, manure doesn't provide a lot of it, although someone working in ag might know something I don't.

This means our food supply is going to get taxed from more than one angle.

You vote with your dollars, and it absolutely makes a difference. To the oligarchs, it makes the only difference. This isn't a petro state like Russia, where they can just export natural resources while starving the people.

Trump has a trifecta now, but in two years we'll have midterm elections and it is usual that the house and Senate flip to the opposite party of the president as people who don't always vote get angry about policy. I'm just hoping there are enough good people willing to run and stand up to a dangerous tyrant.
