@silverpill am pretty sure codeberg would welcome mitra. I might be wrong but to me, this statement is wide to be able to ban crypto projects which are 95% scams. Did you ask codeberg team?

@dimillian congrats. I hope you'll succeed promoting the fedi to your future colleagues, too many conversations about llm are still on twitter 😞. We need more science here 🙏

    @libreleah I've watched your #fosdem26 talk. Thanks.

I was wondering what is the difference with #dasharo i've got with my @novacustom purchase. Is it different from a minifree pc? 🤔 what are the differences from a user pov? Is hardware support the only difference?

@apps using a switch button like you is not compliant with ux guidelines. A switch button should have immediate impact (think like a light switch in your room) what you need is a radio button or check box or better a select to ignore the filter, include only nsfw content or exclude nsfw content (3 options make sense)

idk what's the "nsfw" mean, it's a broken and subjective concept (is a photo of a solderer without a facemask nsfw?) Please use explicit terms (eg nudity, pornography, etc)

@steve this is a reason why blue sky made a new protocol. Tu support that first day. Fedi will take 20 years to do that

    • Fedilab Apps

@apps if an account is marked as indexable, just index it. If the default is wrong, that's the instance admin fault, nit yours.

If Google can index it you can too.

If people are unhappy with the setting of their profile, they can change it or blame the software or the admin and not people of good faith like you.

Public toots are talking to the world in a megaphone by design, expecting privacy is absurd

@silverpill @hongminhee can someone explain what was it supposed to bring?

It sounds like people are attached to xml with schemas whike everyone is using schemaless json (xmpp vs matrix...).

@raucao @silverpill @lain @sozialwelten @koteisaev the problem is not e2ee in itself. It's all the consequences: key management ux nightmare, no spam prevention from servers, no csam filter on servers, no search in server (client must download everything to index and search locally, good luck with mobile). I don't see a world where we have both e2ee and good usability 😞

@koteisaev yes. Fediverse is designed to give everyone a megaphone. Some people want to use the megaphone to have private conversations. Quite a strange idea. Same for e2ee encrypted messengers some will use as a megaphone (making rooms with thousands people).

I agree a protocol between x people to automatically negociate a chatapp to dm would be cool. Or maybe integrate xmpp, there is a bluesky dm implementation based on matrix. Reuse may work best

@fabrice @delta i think having a single impl may be the main success factor of delta. I really hope delta will keep the single rust core. The alternative is infinite time and headache to fix incompatibilities that kill UX. XMPP failure and matrix are there to remind us the hard truth. Moxxie was right 😞
