We’re entering an era where @IceCubesApp is as polished, stable, and up-to-date as ever before.
I have two updates coming that add some nice features and polish the last few rough edges.

I probably look at my @IceCubesApp app APNS proxy graph once a year. Steady growth: the proxy is routing around 14,000 notifications every hour to the app!

I finally found and fixed the bug where putting the app in the background sometimes reset the editor/composer!

Yes, and I think it’s much harder to do for something like @IceCubesApp, where it’s a useless tool without the community backing it. But for other “tool” apps, open source definitely makes less sense if you plan to build a business around it.

So, I was about to review a PR to add GoToSocial support to @IceCubesApp, but I guess I won't do it then.

This is completely baffling to have such "code of conduct" at the age of AI.
I won't waste any second of my brain cycle, or my AI cycle, on their network.

Also, no more OpenAI for the whole text assistant menu. It’s now using on-device Apple Foundation Models framework. The only thing that is using OpenAI is the image description generation.

One of the new thing is that the onboard foundation models (on iOS 26 + capable devices) can suggest you some hashtags! Just press the #iOS26

I don't care about your "strong" opinion.

Mine? By refusing (to even learn) a technology that is rapidly evolving and is being actively adopted, you'll be left behind at some point if your field is even remotely related.
And it's fine not to adapt.
But don't come back crying.

I'm making the effort to adapt. My workflow is evolving. The way I'm working is changing day by day. And I'm not afraid. I'm excited.

Every day I have new opportunities presented to me, literally by just exploring.

I can't understand the other side.

It's just virtue signaling about "look how righteous I am".

I'm an author and a code author. I'm very happy that all my stuff out there will serve the people of tomorrow even more efficiently in an LLM.

It's fine to have stances, and some of them are correct. We need to find a new model for creator to get a share of the LLM pie somehow if your content is in there, etc...
