@mastodonmigration The POV of the attackers: they come from an environment that values conformity. All their members have to follow the party line.
The Democrats are opposite of that: each political subdivision picks people that match their local situation. So it looks like chaos to the conformist brain. But the dems represent their area, not conformity to a party line.
That's why I block dems from any wing of the party who attack other dems because they lack the desired conformity.
@skinnylatte But great restaurants are where you find them. That is, places where a restaurant can affordably open are not always in the most prominent locations.
@Nonilex so foreign medical people can not move to the U.S., and non-rich U.S. citizens can not afford medical educations, and rich citizens do not want to contribute to society. This is how to destroy a country.
@Brad_Rosenheim I feel what you described is because the MAGA church preachers are holding them in place. Every church service would be a nationalist culture-war pep talk. Even if they are unhappy with the new forever wars, they will not vote for the people they call 'DemonRats'. Even if they feel discouraged and don't want to vote, the MAGA church preachers are pushing them on. They come to vote wearing their church merchandise, like 'Saved, not soft', etc. Plan on them all showing up to vote.
@spocko I haven't seen 'the boys', But when that show Madmen was on, I had to quit watching it because it portrayed the WW2 generation in the work place too exactly. It brought back bad memories. I never got along with their authoritarian ways.
#TIL that since the COVID pandemic, a Private Equity fund is buying up bowling alleys in the USA. Bowlero/Lucky Strike is monopolizing the bowling industry in only the way a PE can: increasing profits, cutting maintenance, closing properties. https://www.bowlerocorp.com/bowlero-rebrands-as-lucky-strike-entertainment
@kristinHenry@skinnylatte and after the Civil War, Arizona was set up by former confederate soldiers. The first time I realized that, I recalled all the 1950's black and white TV westerns. Those writers took pages out of history and made a half-hour morality play out of them. From the former soldiers, to the burning down of courthouses that held the Mexican land records, the first time I heard any of that was as a small child watching those old shows.
@Heartofcoyote@Nonilex yeah, when people from other countries ask why the U.S. doesn't have passenger rail systems, it's because we had to fight tooth and nail with what in now called the 'Epstein Class' to get anything built. They have been screwing the U.S. over for many decades.
@_L1vY_ what I tell maga over on Newsbreak is "There is no national police in the constitution. Remember Ruby Ridge and Waco? That's what ICE will be doing if they become the national police". I expect this warning is going to be ignored by libertarians and conservatives in the same way people ignored our warnings about what would happen to Gaza under Trump.
@_L1vY_@atrupar Federalism has always been a problem for national fascists. With ICE, he has created an unconstitutional national police force to try to overcome that.
@lauren When the kicking in doors started last week, we had some negative comments about that from 2A aficionados on the local MAGA infested Next Door app. I mentioned perhaps it's time to get out the 'don't tread on me' flags?. But now, with the infringement of the 2A by the Regime, they are fairly quiet. It is so unlike them. I wonder if they are plotting things.
