    @silver_huskey Yeah I don't remember that but it might have been a twitter carryover, so much crazy was happening during the migration some ideas people were pushing for never lasted because it wasn't feasible.

    People over on #Bluesky are talking about following everyone who follows you like its your duty and bigger account NEED to follow back smaller ones. Its a whole weird ethics code of conduct I've never heard of before. Here on the #fediverse (#mastodon) we don't do anything like that, maybe because of the lack of an algorithm so nothing goes viral (using a bridge to bluesky). We follow and promote who we like, and people who chase clout here are sorely disappointed. Too many good boring ordinary people here to follow for that kind of things.

    In recent months, Brazilians have closely followed the US presidential campaign. Since 2016, whatever happens in American politics seems likely to unfold in Brazil. In many ways, the American political chasm reflects Brazil’s own political polarisation.

    Trump’s latest win provoked immediate reactions in Brazilian politics. Former President Jair Bolsonaro and his supporters are ecstatic because they believe that the political tide will once again turn in their favour - with a little help from the White House.

    The Brazilian left, for its part, is doing an examination of conscience. After suffering a major blow in the municipal elections of October 2024, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (Lula) and his allies can no longer count on the US to promote their agendas at home and abroad.

    The new US government will present Brazil with several challenges. It’s not just a question of recognising the vitality of the global conservative wave. We now need to understand how the concrete decisions made by Trump will affect Brazilian politics – and how to respond to them.

    If you don't #vote in the Us, that is not a protest, unlike in other nations, its a vote that says you are cool with whatever the rest of the electorate says. Kentucky had 14% voter turnout in 2015 and it was still treated as a legitimate election against the governor nm that he had a 60% approval rating state wide

    @Radical_EgoCom If you watched the video, the property wasn't private, it was just run and organized by the workers. Private property was still illegal, all means of production belonged to the workers/government.

    If not for the #election everything about this #october would be perfect in terms of weather where i am and feelings seasonal changes. Instead i have to bite my nails and worry about #fascism
