@KuteboiCoder@Mer__edith Their target demographic is older people, many who are lonely. If they can make them feel a connection with an AI bot, that will keep them on the platform longer.
@freemo@obtener I mean she, but im the rest of the world that number is near zero. It's like how we are cool with 50k deaths per year even if you make a city walkable, you can get those deaths diem to near zero, but we need to sacrifice those people yearly so we can go fast.
@ATLeagle@thefalcon As you said, he appointed some people but not enough. There are things Trump thanking CAN'T do, there were things Biden couldn't do. Trump just tries to break the law and see where the supreme court will give. Biden tried that with student loans, it hit a wall and now he was able to forgive as much debt as possible up to a certain limit, within the boundaries set by the supreme court.
@thefalcon@ATLeagle This was impossible for him to do, not how the laws work. He can only appoint members of the board when they step down, they vote for their head. Its not a failure he literally couldn't do a single thing.
@ChrisWere@futurebird Yeah I always make available and promote my peertube channel videos early. Especially for my solarpunkusa channel which is not monetized.

anubis2814I have been musing in the weeks since the #election if we should have stayed on #xitter longer and tried to inform better. But as it was recently pointed out, online misinformation only works where there are people willing to engage it. It boosts search terms and algorithms even its its complete BS. Shock and outrage which hacked the #algorithm was the only way Milo Yanopolis and Ann Coulter got top search slots on google and twitter. Refusing to engage in a platform creates an echo chamber which gets boring for trolls very quickly. So no, if anything its the fault of the people who didn't leave with the 2022 #twittermigration where people all moved over to #mastodon , instead of requiring losing an election to #Trump again.
@silver_huskey Yeah I don't remember that but it might have been a twitter carryover, so much crazy was happening during the migration some ideas people were pushing for never lasted because it wasn't feasible.

anubis2814People over on #Bluesky are talking about following everyone who follows you like its your duty and bigger account NEED to follow back smaller ones. Its a whole weird ethics code of conduct I've never heard of before. Here on the #fediverse (#mastodon) we don't do anything like that, maybe because of the lack of an algorithm so nothing goes viral (using a bridge to bluesky). We follow and promote who we like, and people who chase clout here are sorely disappointed. Too many good boring ordinary people here to follow for that kind of things.
