Shame on every supporter of this harmful bill, but especially the eight Democrats who voted with Republicans to forcibly out trans kids. With rising hate crimes and violence in the wake of the GOP’s increasingly extreme opposition to trans people’s very existence, Democrats should be fighting to protect trans communities — not joining Republicans’ attacks. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/8-democrats-pass-bill-forcing-teachers-to-out-trans-students_n_6a0f2d3ee4b084c012e3b6d4?nu

Tell Congress: No War with Iran
Trump has launched unauthorized military strikes on Iran, dragging the United States into yet another war without approval from Congress. This reckless escalation is putting U.S. servicemembers, Americans, and Iranian civilians in danger all to advance a unilateral regime-change agenda that the American people never asked for and do not support. The American public does not want another endless war in the Middle East. Congress has a constitutional obligation to assert its war powers immediately and block any further military action. The Constitution is clear: Congress, NOT the president, holds the power to declare war and to approve or disapprove sustained military engagement. That authority is a duty. Members of Congress must use every lever in their toolbox. From immediate oversight, to forcing a vote on a War Powers Resolution, to restricting or cutting off funding for unauthorized hostilities, to holding this administration accountable and putting an immediate stop to this war. We need to let Congress know we won’t accept anything less.

Yesterday, House Democrats were on the verge of finally passing a War Powers Resolution aimed at ending Trump’s illegal war on Iran.

So what did Republicans do? They canceled the scheduled vote.

The Senate could vote as soon as tomorrow on the MAGA spending bill that would shovel $70 billion more to the regime’s secret police — and give Trump the funding to build his billion-dollar ballroom.

The House is preparing to rush a vote so they can get the bill to Trump’s desk by this weekend.

We’ve kept ICE funding blocked since January, and we need to get loud now to stop Republicans from ramming this reconciliation bill through Congress.

It’s incredibly harmful for a Democrat to validate the election conspiracy theories we’ve spent years fighting against.

It is especially shameful for Polis to make this decision as Trump is demanding a $1.7 billion slush fund to cut checks to convicted January 6 insurrectionists.

Authoritarians don’t stop trying to erode democracy just because you kiss the ring. Jared Polis’ decision has failed Colorado and our democracy.

Urge Democrats to Fiercely Oppose the New GOP Effort to Shovel Billions More Dollars to ICE and Border Patrol
After keeping the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shut down for months because they refuse to enact the ICE and Border Patrol reforms that Americans overwhelmingly want, Republicans are now using a legislative process known as budget reconciliation to shower even more taxpayer funding on these unaccountable agencies. Republicans want to give ICE and Border Patrol over $70 billion more to fund their concentration camps and militarized deployments to US cities. That’s all on top of the $170 billion Republicans already pumped into their mass deportation machine in last year’s Big Ugly Bill – paid for, of course, by cutting Medicaid and SNAP. Nearly all Congressional Democrats have held the line, remaining united in their opposition to any further funding for Trump’s secret police and demanding ironclad guardrails to end their violence and impunity – but only because we demanded they fight back. Our elected representatives must use every available lever to delay, obstruct, and build public opposition to Republicans’ outrageous spending on an army of masked federal agents, at the expense of desperately needed funding for essential services that families rely on. Email your Democratic Members of Congress and urge them to use every tool at their disposal to fight any budget reconciliation bill that will shovel more taxpayer dollars to ICE and Border Patrol.
