This win is a warning to every Republican governor trying to rig the map for Trump’s benefit and strip voters — especially Black and brown communities — of their electoral power. CA voters said loud and clear: We’re not folding, we’re fighting. And they won.

This win should light a fire under Democratic governors everywhere. When leaders in states like Virginia, Maryland and Illinois look at the win in California, their takeaways should be clear: Be bold. Be ambitious. Follow California’s lead.

California voters just said F*CK NO to Trump’s authoritarian power grab!

Prop 50 is more than a ballot measure, it’s a blueprint for how we defend democracy. It proves that when voters are given the chance to stand up and fight back, they do — by huge margins and in the face of relentless intimidation.

We hope you’re not tired of winning tonight because we’ve got some more good news: New Jersey will remain a Democratic trifecta! Please show some love to all of the NJ Indivisibles who worked tirelessly throughout the year to help make this happen. 👏

Virginians turned out in force to reject Trump’s regime. From the top of the ticket down, they chose leaders who will fight for working families and go on offense against authoritarian overreach.

But this victory isn’t just about Virginia. In the first major election since Trump’s return, Virginians set the stage for the 2026 midterms and sent a clear message to Congress that Republicans’ cruelty and chaos must be stopped — starting with holding the line for healthcare in this Trump Shutdown.

It’s official: We just added a Democratic trifecta in Trump’s backyard! This win puts a big obstacle in front of Trump and his MAGA minions. Now it’s up to Governor-elect Spanberger and the new Democratic majority to keep building on that mandate and protect Virginians from their problematic neighbor.

This year, we’ve seen three of the largest protests in American history, with Hands Off! in April, No Kings in June, and No Kings 2 in October.

Today, we saw a fourth mass pro-democracy moment of 2025 that demonstrated beyond a doubt: When people organize together, we win.

Congratulations to Lieutenant Governor-elect Hashmi on her historic win! We are *SO* close to adding a Democratic trifecta in Trump’s backyard.

Congratulations to Governor-elect Sherrill and all of the New Jersey Indivisibles who worked so hard to secure this big win! This is a huge night for Democrats and a humiliation for Trump. The message from voters is clear: There is a political cost to siding with the regime.

Pennsylvania Supreme Court: Somewhat flying under the radar, there are three Democratic Supreme Court races up for retention in PA. Losing two could throw the court balance to the GOP. As Trump menaces blue states and cities across the country, we don’t want a regime-aligned court ruling in PA.

New Jersey and Virginia elections: Gubernatorial, statewide, and legislative races are crucial chances to demonstrate that this regime has sparked massive and widespread backlash. Electeds in at-risk districts nationwide will treat big wins here as a bellwether for what's to come in 2026.

NYC Mayor: Zohran Mamdani's win over a corrupt, disgraced sexual abuser Andrew Cuomo in the Dem primary was one of 2025’s first electoral moments of hope. Mamdani's relentless focus on affordability, fighting back against Trump, and his sunny, creative campaigning is a lesson for Dems nationwide.

Today, we get to show our movement’s strength with a tool authoritarians fear deeply: Our vote. And we’ve got to wipe the floor with them. Here are the elections we’re keeping an eye on:

California Prop 50: If passed, it will counteract Texas’ mid-decade gerrymander. That won’t completely undo what was done by GOP map-rigging nationwide, but it will make a very large pro-democracy dent.
